It’s finally the weekend! Let’s catch up on what happened Friday though shall we?
I woke up at 5:00 am to the sound of pouring rain outside. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good rain storm in the middle of the night…except for when I’m sunburnt and getting into a comfortable position on my side is not an easy process. I tried to fall asleep on my back and it wasn’t happening. Luckily the rain was a good sountrack to fall asleep to.
When I finally woke up aroun 7, I put some aloe on while watching “Gilmore Girls” on Netflix before heading downstairs for breakfast. I had a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats then read on the couch. Admittedly I didn’t read for that long since the living room had fans going which made me cold so I put a blanket on. Cold and under a blanket is the perfect condition for me to fall asleep so I took a quick 20 minutes power nap, oops!
I started a new book this morning called Lilac Girls and so far I really like it! It’s a story set during World War II that follows an American, Polish and German girl throughout the war. I think their stories will somehow fit together but I haven’t confirmed that theory yet.
Since it was a cloudy and blah day, my mom treated me to a pedicure. We went to Blu Bamboo Spa and it was such a nice and clean spa. If you are ever in the Florida Keys and want any sort of spa or salon service done I recommend it. My dad got a massage earlier in the day and loved it! Once we got back in the house my family headed out for lunch (even if we lef tat 2:45 pm haha!)
My little brother found this restaurant called M.E.A.T. Eatery and Taproom on Google and was he saw it was on “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” he was sold on it. My family loves to eat at places that have been on the show and this one was a huge hit! We had the truffle fries and wings as an appetizer since we were all pretty hungry at that point. For my lunch I had the chorizo patti sandwich which was delicious! It was a chorizo burger topped with American cheese and a chimicurri aioli. The buns were branded with the logo which we all thought was a cool touch.
The rest of the night was spent reading and watching Blazing Saddles with the fam. It’s my dad’s favorite movie and he wanted to watch it so we did.
Since my second date with Alex, I was told about a fundraiser for his high school band. He is an incredibly talented musician that won a bunch of awards for drumming back in high school. We were supposed to go to the fundraiser together. Except this vacation was planned without consulting everyone’s schedule so I had to miss it. Alex I’m so proud of you and I wish I could’ve been there last night. I’m sorry, I’ll make it up to you. I promise.
