Happy Sunday! Yesterday started out pretty slow since I didn’t go to bed until 3 am, which is so unlike me but I was talking to Alex for about an hour until then. I woke up early and was pretty lazy in bed since I watched Gilmore Girls until almost 11, oops.
Finally I got up and put my bathing suit on, grabbed a book and laid outside to read. I finished Lilac Girls. It was really good and I highly recommend it if you like historical fiction. I gave a little more detail about the plot, without spoiling anything that isn’t given in the description here.
My family decided to go to lunch so we drove over to Wahoo’s Bar and Grill. Originally we talked about taking the boat over and docking it there but it started to rain so we were glad we drove. I had a strawberry daquri and blackened chicken sandwich. The blackened part was perfect! Spicy without being insanely spicy. Very delicious.
When I got home, I fell asleep in the sun for about 20 minutes and woke up to small bumps on the sunburn on my shoulders. I decided that was enough sun and went and sat on the porch swing to finish the book. My younger brother and sister went kayaking and told us there was a manatee by the boats. I walked down to look at it but it swam away 😦
My parents marinated chicken breasts for the past two days in Italian dressing. I forgot how moist chicken gets after being marinated, something I’ll be doing once I’m home for sure! We had Swedish Fish and Bullseyes for dessert. Bullseyes (I’m not even sure if that is the actual name or not) remind me of my grandma. When I was younger, she always had a small jar of them in her kitchen.
I went upstairs kind of early and watched some more Gilmore Girls while typing up this post. The family is waking up early tomorrow to head to Key West so I will be sure to take lots of pictures while there!
