Happy hump day!
I woke up Tuesday morning feeling very sluggish and tired for whatever reason. If I’m being honest, I thought I would be a little sore since I had a speed workout Monday night but luckily I was not. Once I motivated myself to get out of bed I got ready for work.
On the days I wash my hair, I try to have breakfast premade. Yesterday was no exception! I love overnight oats and my go to recently has been Julie’s recipe for peanut butter cookie dough overnight oats. It combines peanut butter, oats, milk, chia seed and honey for a little sweetness. I’ve made it so much I don’t even measure anything any more! It is such a great prep ahead meal that I really love in the morning with just a small splash of milk to make it slightly less thick.
Once I got home from work, I put on some sweats before I got ready to do some work for the night. Well not really work haha more like research! I have spent every July 4th at my grandparents house (they live on a lake!) except for one. This will only be the second time in my life not going there and I’m at a loss for what to do. Fourth of July has been my favorite holiday for as long as I can remember. My mom’s side of the family all goes to my grandparents where we hang out, go swimming and on the boat and eat yummy food. If you have any suggestions for what to do please let me know in the comments! There’s a chance of rain right now so I think our rainy day plan is going to be a movie. I really want to go and see “The House” with Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell.
For dinner I made stir fry. I love the General Tsao’s sauce from Trader Joe’s. I bought it on a whim back in January and have been loving it. I’m almost out as you can see so I need to grab some more soon! I will put cook up some chicken and broccoli with garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper before adding the sauce. Served with a small helping of rice and side salad is such a quick and filling dinner.
When I was at Target a few weeks ago I saw a kit to make a banner in the dollar section (I can not find it online but check in your local store). I love looking in that section for cheap holiday decor. Since I’m just now starting to really decorate a home for the holidays, I like to wait until after to grab things that are on sale. The banner was only a dollar and so easy to make! I think it adds a festive touch to our fire place.
After I hung the banner up, Alex and I settled in for the night and watched the third Harry Potter movie. At this rate, we’ll be done with the series in just a few weeks!
Have a great Wednesday 🙂
