Happy Thursday! I hope getting back into the work groove was not too bad for any of you.
Is it just me or is waking up for work after a day off midweek harder than waking up on Mondays?? It was hard to motivate myself enough to get out of bed but I did it and got to work. I thought work would be a lot busier it is since a lot of people took Monday off but luckily it wasn’t too crazy.
After work I stopped by the library to get some more books before going home. When I got home, I read on the couch before getting ready to go to a barbecue. A package of birthday gifts from my parents came. I finally got a blender and can not wait to make smoothies and homemade ice cream with it. I also got a year subscription to “The Magnolia Journal” which just adds to my love of Chip and Joanna Gannes. I need to go to Waco, Texas to visit their store so badly!
Cranbury, New Jersey does fireworks on July 5th instead of July 4th. One of Alex’s old client house had a barbecue beforehand so we headed there for dinner beforehand. Unfortunately Alex didn’t feel well so we came home before the fireworks.
Growing up, my grandpa would always put on a small fireworks show over Fourth of July weekend. He always bought enough to have multiple nights of fireworks. I was a little sad to miss out on fireworks this year but it is what it is.
When we got home, Alex and I hung out on the couch and I read some more of my book. I’m currently reading “Pretty Babby” by Mary Kubica and really enjoying it! I’ve read another of her books before and I love how the story is told from multiple people’s perspective.
