A Pool Day

Happy Friday! I hope you guys have some fun plans this weekend and that the workday flies by. Have a great day!

It’s been so hot in New Jersey this week. I’m talking 90s every day. After work, I asked Alex if he wanted to go sit by the pool for a bit. He agreed so we changed into our swimsuits and walked over. There were a bunch of kids swimming and jumping in the pool so we opted to just sit on the side and read. Even though we weren’t in the water it was still nice to be outside and enjoy the day.

We started to get hungry and decided to just head back to have some dinner. I would call dinner tonight a buffet of leftovers. After we set up the leftovers in a line on the counter we picked what needed to be heated and threw it in a pan to warm up. I opted for some more buffalo chicken and put it on a wrap. Coupled with leftover roasted potatoes dinner was served.

After dinner I prepped my lunch and breakfast for tomorrow. On days I wash my hair, I like to have overnight oats in the fridge since I just grab them and a spoon. Since they’re such an easy and filling breakfast I will post a recipe next week! I meant to measure it out last night but forgot. Once that was ready, I got comfy in my pjs and got on the couch to read my newest book. I think I am one of the only people in America who did not readΒ “To Kill a Mockingbird”. I have a feeling its because the public school district in my hometown had kids read it in middle school but I was in Catholic school until I was going into high school. In a way, I feel pressure to like this book since it’s considered a classic novel.

Question of the day: What’s one book you feel like everyone but you has read?

  1. I read To Kill a Mockingbird in high school with the rest of the public school kids but I think I would get so much more out of it if I read it again!
I haven’t read many of the classics (Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Jane Eyre, etc.)!
    Have a great weekend πŸ™‚

    1. My high school didn’t read it which surprised me! I guess since I went to private grade school and public high school I missed it.
I read “Gone with the Wind” and loved it a few years ago! Then I got the dvd for Christmas one year and watched it when I was home sick one day. I definitely want to read it again along with some other classics.
      Have a good weekend πŸ™‚

    1. I don’t think it’s that cheesy! I love the pool to but one of the lifeguards at our complex’s pool totally creeped me out the first time we went so I don’t like going by myself incase he’s there. This summer just seems like a constant heat wave to me. Have a great weekend!
