Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. After a few days off from running, I’m ready to get out after work and move a bit. Have a great day 🙂
After waking up at 4:30 am on Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I slept until 7 am yesterday. Granted 7 is still early for a weekend but I’ll take it after waking up for work and a lacrosse tournament. Alex made pancakes for breakfast with a little bacon and then we got ready for our day. He offered to go grocery shopping and run errands with me, so I took him up on the offer. It was fun to not run around town by myself.
When we got home, we put all the groceries away and I tidied the apartment up a bit. I read “To Kill a Mockingbird” before having lunch. Since there was still some leftover buffalo chicken, I heated it up in a pan. I melted a little shredded cheese on a tortilla, placed the chicken over it, put some lettuce on and had a wrap. It hit the spot!
Once everything was cleaned up from lunch, I got all set on the couch and kept on reading. It’s taking me longer to get through this book compared to others. Granted I haven’t read it since Friday but I think since it’s not a suspense novel like I’m used too. So far I enjoy the book! I’m interested to see where the rest of the book goes and I’m a little over half way through at this point.
Alex surprised me when he asked if I wanted to go to the library. Naturally I agreed so off we went. Since I tend to go on my way home from work, he wanted to see what finance books they had. I check to see if they had “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1” so that we could watch it this week but unfortunately it was checked out. Luckily I found a dessert only cookbook 🙂 I can not wait to flip through it and write down all the recipes I want to try!
After we got home, I read a little more and folded some laundry. When we started to get hungry for dinner, I put some broccoli in to roast and made a big bowl of salad. For the past few weeks, I’ve had a big bowl of salad in our fridge so that we an easily have a side salad at dinner plus it helps get some extra veggies in! Alex grilled up some burgers and I threw some fries in the oven to complete the meal. If you like cheeseburgers, you should try it with white American cheese. I tried this months ago and now I’m hooked because of Alex.
Post dinner activities involved writing this post followed by some more reading. Once 9 pm hit, we were all in on “Game of Thrones”. Since I don’t like to stay up too late, and my body has such a hard time staying up past 10:30 pm if I’m at home, I like to take my makeup beforehand. If you ever watch stuff late at night and then feel like you get in bed too late, I totally recommend getting ready for bed beforehand.
Question of the day: what are your must have burger toppings?
