New Clothes + Harry Potter

Happy Friday! I hope you all have something fun planned for the weekend. Tomorrow we’re going to a barbecue on the shore which should be exciting. Have a great day πŸ™‚

While I was at work, Alex asked if the library had the last Harry Potter movie on the shelf. When I saw it was available to check out, I made it a point to grab it on the way home since we’re almost done with part 1. Naturally I had to get some more books. I really need to start getting more than 3 at a time since I fly through them.

I got home to see that my Nordstrom anniversary sale order had arrived! I wasted no time in trying everything on. Some stuff I didn’t like, other things I need in a new size but some stuff is perfect! I actually ordered one of the shirts I bought in more colors because I see myself wearing all through the fall and winter.

Before I left for work, I put some chicken, garlic, black pepper, seasoned salt, paprika, chili powder, and chicken broth in the crock pot and turned it on low. I added an extra chicken breasts so that there’s leftovers for lunches this weekend. I threw some broccoli in the oven to roast and some rice on the stove to complete our dinner. Do any of you roast broccoli? Let me know if the comments if you do please! Lately the stems have been a little mushy on the inside and I can’t figure out why.

After dinner involved some foam rolling. I hate it but I love it at the same time lol. Alex said his legs were hurting him so I finally convinced him to try it. He was not a fan of the pain but maybe I can get him to keep rolling and see if that helps. Once it got darker, we flipped on Harry Potter. It was a great way to end the day before the weekend!

Question of the day: What’s one thing you are excited about for this weekend?

  1. I love Harry Potter. You’re making me want to re-watch the entire series this weekend πŸ™‚

I’m getting brunch with my friend I haven’t seen in a while tomorrow!! Can’t wait for that. Otherwise, I have a pretty low-key weekend. Have a great rest of your Friday!

    1. Tonight we start the last movie which is weird because I feel like I just watched the first one. Brunch sounds like it will be so much fun! It’ll be nice to catch up with you friend. Thanks, have a great day πŸ™‚

  2. What did you order from the Nordstrom Sale?! Fashion show?? πŸ™‚
Big Little Lies is really good! (The show on HBO was awesome too, check it out!)
I’m excited to finally have a lazy weekend, we have a huge storm in the forecast so we will probably be inside a lot!
    Have a great weekend!

    1. I spent probably $800 on clothes and shoes…oops! But I am returning a lot because I don’t like it on or it doesn’t fit. I’ll definitely show what I bought once the second order comes in! I’m really excited to read “Big Little Lies” and then watch the show after.
A big storm on the weekend is the best in my opinion. I hope it’s not bad enough to have damage though.
      Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Big Little Lies is such a good book! I’m rereading it now.
How do you roast your broccoli? I usually do mine between 425-450 degrees for about 12-15 minutes and haven’t had a problem with mushy stems.

    1. It’s the next book I’m going to read! I like the author and heard good things about the mini series on HBO.
I put a little olive oil on it with spices and put it in at 425 for 20 minutes, take it out to toss it around and put it in for another 20 minutes. This is how I cooked it at my old college apartment and it worked there and for a bit at my current apartment but not anymore 😦
      Have a great night!
