Happy Sunday! I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by 🙂
Yesterday started pretty early. Alex had to wake up at 6:30 for an appointment and I figured I’d just get up with him. I walked to the kitchen and put a piece of bread in the oven to toast (our oven has a toast function). When it was done, I put a little peanut butter on it. After letting my mini breakfast digest for about an hour, I headed out for my 5 mile run. Is it just me or is running on a path when people take up the whole thing extremely frustrating?! I was fed up with moving so I stayed to the right and let the people walking the wrong way move. Maybe that was a little aggressive but I was taught to always stay to the right.
I got home around 8:30 and was very happy to have my run done so early! I showered and finished my grocery list for the week. For a post run and grocery store snack, I put vanilla Greek yogurt, a little milk, and frozen fruit (bananas, blueberries and a couple strawberries) in a blender. The result was a nice and thick smoothie which was the perfect fuel for shopping.
By the time I made it home and put everything, Alex was hungry. He requested McDonald’s for lunch so off we went. While I definitely don’t eat McDonald’s on a regular basis, I don’t get hard on myself for it either. I eat healthy meals majority of the time with a couple treats here and there. Moderation is definitely something I keep in mind when indulging in not so healthy foods.
The drain on our bathtub doesn’t work 😦 I got some painful blisters on my run yesterday. Sorry if that grosses you out but I’m trying to keep it real! I wanted to do an epsom salt soak so I took the biggest serving bowl we own and used it instead. Sometimes you need to be creative with your needs lol.
It was supposed to be heavy rain and winds yesterday but luckily that didn’t happen! Unfortunately, the barbecue we were supposed to go to got cancelled so we spent the day at home. I spent the afternoon reading on the couch plus had a small nap too. I finished “Before We Met” and really enjoyed it! Then I started “Defending Jacob”. I found out about “Defending Jacob” a few months ago from Julie’s blog Peanut Butter Fingers.
For dinner it was leftover pasta from last night. I will say I feel like the red pepper was hotter now than it was yesterday. My guess is that sitting it in the fridge let the flavor come out more. I colored after dinner while it got dark then watched the last bit of Harry Potter before heading to bed.
Questions of the day: How do you prevent blisters when running? Do you walk/run on the right of the sidewalk as if you were driving a car?
