Happy Tuesday! I can’t wait for after my run tonight because we’re going to trivia at a local bar. Have a wonderful day 🙂
My lack of sleep Saturday night caught up to me yesterday morning because waking up was HARD. I can usually wake up pretty easily but my body was not having it yesterday. I was up late again Sunday night but it’s because there was this sound that sounded like someone was closing the door to our apartment! It definitely freaked me out but all of the locks were set and nothing was wrong so Alex thought it was just someone else in the building. Even though nothing happened but definite a good reminder to always double check your locks before bed.
After work, I had 2 recovery miles on my agenda for the run. Something I’ve learned the past month and a half with my coach is that the recovery runs are important. While I always feel slow doing them (I run them at a 10:30-10:45 pace), it’s good to let my body recover a bit so I can build up and get faster. My post run snack was a juicy peach. Since I’m a peach newbie, I feel like I get juice all over my hands when I eat them. Any tips you have to help me not get covered in juice, I’d appreciate it!
I read my book on the couch for a bit after I showered. Dinner tonight was leftovers from a few days ago. We heated up rice and some chicken and made little chicken bowls. Since the rice felt a little dry, I added some of my favorite hot sauce. I always have a bottle of Frank’s original hot sauce in my fridge. No joke, I put it on something everyday. If you like hot sauce definitely try this one out.
Once I cleaned up from dinner and made my lunch for tomorrow I read a little bit more while waiting for it to get dark. I also foam rolled. I’m definitely feeling better but want to try foam rolling everyday to prevent any soreness or injuries! When it was dark we made a bowl of popcorn to share and watched Game of Thrones before bed.
Question of the day: What’s your go to post run snack?
