A Wet Run

Happy Tuesday! I can’t wait for work to be done because I might make a trip to the pool since it won’t be too hot. Have a great day 🙂

It rained yesterday. All day. As it got the later in the work day the less I thought I would be able to go out on my run. The weather report called for storms from about 4-6 pm so I thought it would be stormed out. Luckily the rain basically stopped while I was out. I mean it was drizzling at some points during my run but not a downpour so I consider it win.

Maybe it was the weather but I was feeling really meh yesterday. If I’m being honest, I didn’t even really want to go out for my run and dragged my feet while changing. I’m so glad I decided to run because I felt great. My coach had me to run 3 x 800 m (half a mile) and I hit all of the times. After struggling with my past two runs, I really needed this confidence boost. My last repeat was my fastest at 4:03 which I was happy with! The park I ran in had giant puddles all over the path so my shoes were soaked by the end and felt heavier than normal.

I showered and put my pjs on. Yes I am about 80 years old half of the time 🙂 What can I say, I like comfort. I did some work around the house and tried to fix the printer Alex and I. Hopefully it’s not broken because we just got brand new ink for it and the ink won’t fit in my printer.

When it was time for dinner I put water in a pot to boil. Since it was gross out I wasn’t really in the mood to cook nor had I planned our meals for the week, so pesto tortellini for dinner it was. After draining the tortellini, I put some pesto in the pot and the tortellini back in to mix it. With a bowl of salad on the side, dinner hit the spot.

After dinner, I wanted something sweet and Alex was getting ice cream so I had some too. The bowl looks huge because I didn’t take that much ice cream but self control won last night!

Once that was finished, I packed my lunch for work tomorrow and meal planned. A few weeks ago, I started writing the main part of our meals in my agenda and it makes the weeknights so much easier!  I don’t have to think about what I’m going to make since it’s already been planned. To end the night, I got comfortable and kept on reading my book. I started “the opposite of love” and am flying through it. Seriously, I read so fast it’s crazy. By the time I went to bed, I had about a quarter left in the book.

Question of the day: What’s one high from your day yesterday?

  1. Sounds like a great Monday! Nice job going on your run and hitting your times – I’m glad the rain held up!

I’m going to add that book to my “to read” list 🙂 .

One high from my day yesterday – having some friends over for sushi and The Bachelorette!

  2. Nice job on your workout! I always feel a little down when it rains all day 😦
High from yesterday: we got new carpet installed for our whole upstairs yesterday and it is soooo nice! (and it’s crazy how excited I am for something like new carpet – I’m getting old haha!) Have a great day!

    1. Something about a gray and gloomy day just puts me in a meh mood.
You’re not getting old! I remember when my parents got new carpet and it just feels so much better on bare feet.
      Have a great day 🙂
