6 Miles + Pizza

Happy Saturday! It’s supposed to rain in central New Jersey all day 😦 so I think I have a lot of errand running and couch time in my future. Thanks for stopping by the blog and have a great day!

My morning started off with a smoothie to accompany my scrambled egg. On the mornings I don’t wash my hair, I’ll make myself a scrambled egg. I’ve started to notice that when I just eat an egg, I get hungry around 10 am. I wanted to try adding a smoothie to see if it helped satisfy me until lunch and it did. I put the rest of the fresh blackberries, a spoonful of peanut butter, a small spoonful of chia seeds, frozen banana and some frozen strawberries plus some milk to get it moving.

My boss let us leave early today which was nice! Instead of getting home at 4:15, I was making my way outside to stretch then. I had 6 miles to do and nailed the pace. Majority of the time when I looked at my pace, my Garmin watch showed it as 10:20. That never happens to me, I’m usually all over the place so I was very excited to see myself being pretty consistent.

When I got home, I showered then laid in bed for a little bit in my robe. I hope I’m not the only one who does that sometimes. Alex and I were talking about going to a second hand store to see if they had nightstands but we decided against it. It’s been about three and a half months since we moved in and we still don’t have nightstands. Hopefully we can get some soon.

Dinner for the night was pizza. We don’t eat pizza too much but I figured it would be nice after my longest run since June and Alex finishing his semester (even though his last exam was yesterday). We got half cheese and half pepperoni. We tried out a new to us pizza place but I was so hungry after my run that I don’t think I really gave it a fair shot. I was just excited to have food in my belly.

After dinner I finished my book. I did like it but I don’t know if I would read another one of Stephen Harrigan’s books again. Maybe I will just to see because maybe this one about Abraham Lincoln just wasn’t my cup of tea! If you like historical fiction, then I highly recommendΒ “Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker”Β by Jennifer Chiaverini. I’ve read three of her books now and have really enjoyed them all but that one is my favorite.

A downside to running 6 miles was blisters 😦 I managed to get them on both feet which was no fun. So once I finished my book, I made sure to take an epsom salt bath to try and help them. I really need to be more consistent with those. I should make it a goal to do them every 2 days and see if that helps. Granted, I should get new shoes but I also need new sports bras so I need to pick one. Let me know what you think I should prioritize and get first because I’m torn.

The rest of the night was spent cuddled up on the couch watching someΒ “Arrested Development”. If you enjoy “The Office” humor then I think you would like this show. It follows a family that is trying to get back on it’s feet after the father is arrested.
