Happy Tuesday friends! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. Have a great day 🙂
I typically eat overnight oats on days when I wash my hair. Depending on the week, I wash it two or three times (I wash my hair every other day and it feels so much healthier!) Monday morning it needed a wash but I had leftover waffles from Sunday so I skipped out on overnight oats. I was so pleasantly surprised when I actually had time to sit at the apartment to eat them instead of heating them up in the microwave at work. Grapes and a glass of milk rounded out my morning meal.
After work, I was supposed to have a phone call with someone from 4:15-4:45 so when they didn’t call I headed out for my run. I assumed they would call about 5 steps into the run but they didn’t which was nice. My coach had me running 3 total miles with half a mile warm up then 12 fartlek intervals (sprints) for a bit. I didn’t plan on this happening but I negative split each mile yay! I started out at a 9:48 (this included the warm up half mile) then dropped to 9:02 and finished with an 8:46 mile.
When I got home, I stretched before hopping into the shower. I have a small waterproof bluetooth speaker so I like to use my post run showers to listen to some of my podcasts. One that I’ve been subscribed to for a few months now and really like is Casefile. Casefile is a true crime podcast based out of Australia that takes real life cases and explains them in detail. The narrator makes it as thought you are listening to an audiobook or watching a documentary. It lays out the backstory that is necessary and takes you through all of the case. If you like crime podcasts, I recommend it. I will say some episodes are a little harder to listen to then others, there is always a disclaimer to say if the case involves children or sexual crimes in case that bothers you.
By the time I showered and changed, I was getting pretty hungry. Before work I turned on the crockpot to make southwestern chicken. Writing my daily posts has really showed me how often I make this meal. It’s just so good! The only really work that was involved was adding more lettuce, carrots and red pepper to the salad bowl and making the rice. Last night I made chicken rice from Rice-A-Roni. I love these boxed mixes since it adds some more flavor than just brown rice would give.
After dinner, Alex and I watched and episode of “Arrested Development” to unwind a bit. When it was over, I worked on this post before a friend of ours came over. Since my run was faster than expected, I made sure to foam roll last night. I’ve slowly made foam rolling a habit of mine and probably do it 5-6 days a week and I really think it’s helped my legs. When our friend left, I read a little on the couch before Alex asked if I wanted to watch another episode of “Arrested Development”. I said yes and proceeded to sleep through the entire episode haha. Looks like we’ll be rewatching that episode soon 😉
Question of the day: Do you like podcasts? If so, what’s your favorite?
