A Smoothie And Sunshine

Happy Thursday! Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a great one πŸ™‚

I planned on having overnight oats for breakfast yesterday but “forgot” (read: chose not to) make them Wednesday night. So it was another egg and smoothie morning for me. Since I washed, my hair I was a little more pressed for time than normal and couldn’t full blend the smoothie. I had a few chunks of fruit but oh well. My smoothie had frozen strawberries and half a banana, peanut butter, chia seed and some milk. This may be a weird combo but I put it with a scrambled egg with salt, pepper, and a ton of hot sauce.

While I work, I like to listen to music. For the past week or so I’ve been listening to Broadway show soundtracks after my morning radio show finishes. Both Tuesday and yesterday had me listening to “Dear Evan Hanson” and I love it. I have no idea what the show is about the music is great and relatable which is awesome.

The sun was shining yesterday and made me want to spend sometime out to enjoy it. Our apartment has a little balcony but Alex and I haven’t put any furniture on it yet. So I brought one of our dining room table chairs outside so I could sit and read. Whatever works right?! The warm weather made me want some iced tea, so I took a bag of cranberry green tea and poured the tea over ice to enjoy while I read. I usually like black teas but the flavored green tea was light and refreshing.

After about an hour, I got hungry and I thought I should make dinner. I had leftover chicken and rice from Monday night. Since Alex had leftover tacos, I saw the salsa and cheese out and decided to add a bit to my bowl. Great decision. While there wasn’t as much chicken left as I would’ve liked, I had half of an avocado left so I added that to my salad for a little extra nutrition.

When dinner was cleaned up, Alex and I watched a little tv on the couch. I worked on this post before reading some more. Thank goodness I stopped at the library quickly on my way home yesterday because I finished theΒ Luckiest Girl AliveΒ last night. It’s a good book and I did not see one aspect happening at all so that was pretty surprising to me. This book isn’t a thriller though so while some things that happen did surprise me, I wasn’t on the edge of my seat trying to see what happened like I am with a true thriller. When I finished the book, I hopped in bed to call it a day.

Question of the day: What is your favorite smoothie recipe? I’m running out of frozen fruit and want to try something new!

  1. Wow I can’t believe you already finished that book, haha! I think my fav smoothie recipe is the simplest one ever: one banana, a cup of vanilla almond milk, ice, a little vanilla extract, and stevia. I just love the vanilla-y banana taste πŸ™‚ have a great Thursday!

  2. I love how much you like to read! You totally inspired me to sit outside and read this weekend. I was doing that on the daily until we got our puppy, ha. She has taken all my time and attention!!

My favorite smoothie combo is: a handful of frozen black cherries, a small container of vanilla yogurt, a splash of milk, and a big spoonful of PB!

    1. I was always the kid who loved the library’s summer reading program and would finish it halfway through the summer ha! I currently have major puppy fever and can imagine how your new puppy takes up all of your time.
I’m not s big cherry fan, can you taste them in the smoothie?

      Have a great day Allie!

  3. You read so fast!! I usually read before bed but I’ve been having a hard time staying awake lately.
I use all kinds of fruit in my smoothies…right now I have frozen mango, pineapple, strawberries, blackberries, and bananas. I usually add coconut milk, chia seeds, almond butter, and a little yogurt.
    Have a great day!

Mango and pineapple sounds like a great smoothie right now. I will have to pick some up this weekend at the store I think. Enjoy the rest of your night Erinn!

  4. Hi Maureen:)

My favorite smoothie recipe is frozen bananas, oats, milk (of any kind) and honey. It really reminds me to my childhood, when my Dad used to prepare it all the time.
