Happy Saturday! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day friends 🙂
I had my beloved overnight oats again. The one I’m obsessed with is Julie’s recipe for peanut butter cookie dough overnight oats. I’ve made it so many times at this point I only measure the oats and milk out. It’s awesome to have such a healthy breakfast that’s so simple to make since I just throw it together at night and then I’m good to go.
After work, I went to Target for a few things Alex and I needed. Well some of it we needed, others were just backups since Target was having a promotion where if you spent $20 on personal care items, you got a $5 gift card. I made my list during my lunch break and actually stuck to it! You guys, that never happens to me. I usually end up browsing or adding extra things to my cart but I was so good. And my wallet thanked me when I checked out which was just an added bonus.
It was a thrilling Friday night over here in New Jersey. When I got home, I organized under our bathroom sink. It was driving me nuts since stuff somehow got thrown all over the place but I organized everything and it looks so much better.
For dinner, we had Italian sausage, roasted potatoes and green beans. I know, no roasted broccoli. I was surprised to. The green beans just looked really good when I was grocery shopping last week and I’m glad I picked them up. While we ate dinner it was storming. Like a true heavy thunder and lightening storm which made my heart happy. I’m from Chicago and every year there is a terrible storm that causes the tornado sirens to go off or a big power outage. I loved when this storm would come! There’s something soothing about it, plus I love the post storm scent where it’s just fresh.
A stormy night was a great time to dig into my current read. I started “The Obsession” by Nora Roberts Thursday and was hooked on chapter 1. The story follow Naomi who finds out the kind of person her father is. After a name change, she is a thriving adult earning a living as a photographer. Naomi is guarded about her past but her father’s crimes can slowly become an obsession. That was a mix of what I’ve read so far (with no spoilers!) and the synopsis on the cover. I was more than happy to spend a lot of time reading this on the couch last night.
After a while, Alex and I wanted to watch a movie. We’ve been meaning to watch “The Founder” starring Michael Keaton for a while. This is all about the man who took McDonald’s into what we know it as today. While it is based on a true story, I don’t know how much of the movie is true. The movie is actually really good and interesting! I would recommend it for sure. Full disclosure though, we still have about 30 minutes left in it since I was getting tired and was going to fall asleep.
Question of the day: What are you doing today?
