Tired Tuesday

Happy hump day! It seems weird that it’s already Wednesday but I’m not complaining too much. Have a great day πŸ™‚

To say it was hard to get out of bed yesterday would be an understatement. I was definitely riding the struggle bus. I finally got out bed and got ready before grabbing breakfast. I would’ve prepped overnight oats except I was low on oats and forgot to buy some at the grocery store. A scrambled egg and apple and mango fruit bar from Trader Joe’s was on the menu. Quick and simple but it wasn’t that filling. Maybe because I didn’t eat the bar until a couple hours later at work but who knows.

The break room has a water cooler but was out of water around lunch time. I didn’t realize that and the only option for beverages besides coffee was pop. Since I don’t drink coffee, I grabbed the last Sprite out of the fridge and sipped on it for a few hours. I rarely drink pop and only do when I want it. I didn’t exactly want pop after a weekend with a ton on indulgences but you gotta roll with the punches.

I left work two hours early to work from home since the washer technician was almost at the apartment. Bad news – it’s still broken and can’t get fixed. Good news – it’s not our fault so we get a brand new washer dryer. Fingers crossed it gets installed soon! When the technician left I had to leave to go to an appointment. By the time I got home and changed for my run it was 6:45. 3 easy miles to end the day.

After my shower I quickly got to work on making diner. We had burrito bowls. I put brown rice, black beans, ground beef, cheese, lettuce and salsa in mine even though the picture makes it look like lettuce with salsa. Since it was close to 8 by the time we ate, I liked it. Simple and a nice change from the usual tacos we’ll make.

When dinner was done, Alex and I cuddled up on the couch to watch “Burn Notice”. I was so tired from the weekend and having a million things to do that I didn’t read at all last night. If you’ve been reading for a while you know I read a little every night so I must have been exhausted! I got in bed around 10 and fell asleep very quickly.

Question of the day: Do you feel like you need and extra day to recover from the long weekend? I could’ve used one!

  1. I so agree about needing an extra day to recover from a long weekend! I drove to and from Toronto over the weekend, and was up wayyyy too late on monday prepping for the first day of school!
    PS I am also all about burrito bowls right now!!


  2. I STRUGGLED on Tuesday! I woke up so late from work, but I slept in late today. hah. I worked the majority of the weekend but I’m resting now! Long weekends do that to me too, though! It’s hard to get back into it!


    1. Lucky you! No sleeping in until Sunday for me, but I did go to bed early last night and fell asleep on the couch oops. It’s great you have some rest after a work filled weekend. I think working from home should be mandatory after a long weekend as a way to ease back into it.

    Burrito bowls sound awesome – it makes me want to go to chipotle but I’m a little wary because of all the food poisoning stuff :/

    1. Everyone here in New Jersey makes fun of me for it but I’ll call it pop until I die πŸ™‚ Make burrito bowls as a small switch from normal tacos. I don’t think I’ve had Chipotle in over a year but mostly because there isn’t one that close to where I live.
