Happy Tuesday! Thank you for stopping by the blog today! Have a wonderful day 🙂
It felt weird waking up in Alex’a parents house, even though I have slept there plenty of times before. I guess when you’re used to home anything feels weird. The only down side to house sitting is that it’s farther away from work than our apartment. Luckily I wasn’t too rushed to get out the door! Guys – fall is here in New Jersey. It wasn’t even 50° on the drive to work, I had the heat on! Granted the heat was to help get rid of condensation on the car’s window but still. I hope this doesn’t mean the winter will be brutally cold.
I left work a little early to go to a doctor’s appointment. Does anyone else feel like all of their yearly check ups fall around back to school even though you’re done with school? No, just me? Okay haha. But seriously I should work on adjusting them so appointments don’t fill up so fast. I had a goal to be out on my run by 5 but of course I got stuck behind a super slow driver so I missed the goal. After my two miles, I came back and dug into some watermelon as a snack. I’m trying to soak up the last bit of summer by having the quintessential summer fruit a few more times!
Alex’s parents have some premarinated meat in their freezers so we took out a teriyaki pork tenderloin to grill. To keep it real for just a minute, Alex and I planned all of our meals around what we could grill since we’re only allowed to have an electric grill in our apartment. Nothing against an electric grill but it’s not the same as a true grill. Alex was completely in his element last night out by the grill. Oh my gosh, I forgot how good grilled pork tenderloin tastes! The marinade made it so tender and juicy. I’m not even mad about the leftovers I can enjoy later in the week 😉
Once dinner was cleaned up I started to type of this post. Alex was working on school work so I looked at potential movies we could watch afterwards. I also read my book for a bit! I raided the bookshelves in the house for a book to read and landed on “Fate and Furies” by Lauren Groff. It follows a couple over their marriage of 22 years and then something happens to test their marriage. I know that’s not a very good review but I just started it. We decided to watch “The Accountant” with Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, and J.K. Simmons. It’s a good movie! We only watched about half since it was getting late, and I dozed off for a bit oops. It wasn’t even 10 o’clock when that happened so if anyone has ways to not fall asleep while watching a movie at night, help a girl out.
Question of the day: What is one fruit (or other food) that always reminds you of summer?
