We Need Two Grilled Cheeses Stat!

Happy Friday! Just a few more hours until the weekend. Have a great day πŸ™‚

Alex and I are so happy you enjoyed our first date story that was posted yesterday! It’s crazy how things can change in a year.

The morning started out like most but someone was very excited to wake up with his dogs as you can see. Alex has wanted to get a puppy for a while and the idea has slowly grown on me. Dog sitting for his parents has only made puppy fever worse for us. For breakfast, we made bacon and eggs since we both had a little extra time before I had to leave.

At work, I got a little distracted and saw this Buzzfeed article about things people hate at work. Some many of these are so relatable it’s crazy. Check it out if you want a laugh πŸ™‚ This week has been employee appreciation week and sandwiches were being brought in for lunch. I grabbed a turkey sandwich but I kinda wish I had just made my own since I would’ve been able to put everything I like on it but oh well! I did bring my usual carrots, pretzels and hummus which helped to fill me up.

After work I was ready to move. I quickly changed and headed out for a 4 mile run. It felt hard since it was hotter and more humid than it has been recently. About 3/4 of the way into the first mile, I had to stop to take off my shirt. For a while it seemed like sports bra weather was gone but I guess not. I held a pretty decent pace through all of my miles so I can’t complain too much.

When I got home I stretched and foam rolled before hopping in the shower. My legs felt heavy again so I wanted to foam roll a decent amount throughout the night. I went upstairs to shower and Grace followed me right into the bathroom which was cute. During my shower I saw the shower curtain move and saw a nose poke through. I turned the water off and Annie was waiting for me. It was so cute!

We planned to have pasta for dinner last night but there was nothing to add to it that would’ve tasted good or sauce (Alex didn’t want pesto) so we switched to grilled cheese. Except the only bread options in the house was whole grain with seeds and a swirl bread of pumpernickel and rye. A certain somebody does not like bread that has seeds in it so grilled cheese was out too. At that point it was late and we were hungry so we just said screw it and drove toΒ Teddy’s, a diner in town. We used to go there all the time and would jokingly say that we would walk in and tell the owner “George we need two grilled cheeses stat!”. Last night was one of those nights where we jokingly were going to say that. Guys, grilled cheese from a diner is so much better than grilled cheese from home. It’s a good thing we don’t live to close to Teddy’s or our waistbands would be expanding.

When we got back, I changed back into pjs (obviously) and we cuddled up on the couch to finish “The Accountant”. I finishedΒ “Fate and Furies”Β last night too. I’m mixed with the book. Lauren Groff’s writing style wasn’t my favorite but the story was good and well written. The end I did not see happening either so that was a plus about the book as well.

Question of the day: Do you run in just a sports bra? I ran all four years in high school and it was normal to do it but I know not everyone thinks that way.Β

  1. I never run in just a sports bra, but that’s mostly because I sunburn really easily and I like to keep a little extra UV protection on my super pale mid-section;) Also it’s so true that diner food tastes better than home food!

    1. That makes sense! I really need to get better about wearing sunscreen when I run if I know I’ll be just in a sports bra. Diners must put something extra in their food to make it taste better πŸ˜‰

      Have a great weekend Kerri!

  2. Nice job on your run! And omg those pups are so cute, I’m so jealous you get to take care of them!

I never run in a sports bra. I feel a little too self conscious, especially running around the city with people all around.

    1. They’re fun to take care of but it’s making puppy fever even more real for Alex and I! I get that, I think if I lived in a big city I would probably feel weird too. Heck, Alex thinks it’s weird but I’m used to it I guess.

      Have a great weekend!

  3. For some reason I commented and it didn’t go through the first time??

Grilled cheese is so good! I love it in the winter with a bowl of soup. Sometimes we add tomato and avocado to make it more substantial. And my husband loves to add bacon πŸ˜‰
Getting a puppy is a lot of work! And you have to pretty much rearrange your whole schedule…and I suffer from extreme dog mom guilt!
I used to run in a sports bra all the time but now it makes me super uncomfortable – I don’t like the negative attention :/

    1. That’s so weird!! I don’t know why your first comment didn’t go through.

I like the way your husband thinks πŸ˜‰ Bacon on grilled cheese is sooo good. You’re right a puppy definitely is a lot of work but they’re also super cute. I could see myself having dog mom guilt too. But maybe it will help me not have human mom guilt or it’ll make human mom guilt even worse. I don’t know which.
If you want to run in a sports bra do it!! You’re doing it for you not for other people. If someone ever yells at me on runs (even with shirts on *eye roll*) I hit them with a death glare and they usually shut up and look away lol.

Have a great weekend Erinn πŸ™‚

  4. There absolutely is something about grilled cheeses from a diner that I can never replicate at home. I’m pretty sure it’s all the good vibes from the successful grilled cheeses that came before it! I don’t tend to run in just a sports bra, but that’s just cause I go immediately for the treadmill whenever the weather turns unsavory (I know, I’m a wimp). I’ll definitely do crop tops at the gym, though. My athleisure obsession is real. πŸ˜‰

    1. There must just be a layer of past grilled cheeses on the grill top at diners that make it so good! And definitely sanitary too πŸ˜‰ Some days I wish I had a treadmill but then I realize that running in a straight line is so hard for me and I will fall off lol. I don’t own any crop tops but maybe I should try them? I just feel like they aren’t meant for my body type. If I’m running errands, athleisure is awesome. So glad it is a trend right now.

Thank you so much for reading and have a great day girl! πŸ™‚

      1. I didn’t think so either until I owned a few and realized just how much I enjoy wearing them. Oh, and I definitely bob and weave on treadmills, I’m not gonna lie it feels a little dangerous occasionally!
