Friday Night Fires

Happy Saturday! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day 🙂

It wasn’t cold yesterday morning but I was in the mood for some oatmeal. Well that and there’s no milk in the fridge so I can’t make overnight oats. But a bowl of oatmeal with cinnamon and peanut butter really hit the spot.

Friday morning was one of those days where I felt like I sat down and barely stopped working until lunch. I’m not complaining since the morning flew by. For lunch I had another turkey sandwich. If you like sandwiches I recommend trying this swirl bread. It’s pumpernickel and rye together and actually really good. I was a little nervous to try it at first but I’ve been loving it for my sandwiches this week.

After work, I sat down to read for a bit. I started “Ghostwalk” by Recbecca Stott. So far so good! It’s a story about an author that is found dead and a ghostwriter takes over the book about Issac Newton and alchemy. It takes place in the current century with references to seventeenth century in Cambridge, England. I’m about a quarter of the way through so I will let you know more of how I feel when I get farther in! It was such a nice day so when I let the dogs out I grabbed a soccer ball. Gracie loves to chase a soccer ball so she was in heaven while I kicked it around the yard. Annie was barely interested in the tennis ball Alex threw her lol.

Last week, Erinn posted a recipe for burgers so Alex and I made them last night. So good!! It was basically a bacon cheeseburger but with the bacon and cheese mixed in. Y’all should check out the recipe and make them for yourself.

We quickly cleaned up dinner and went to start a bonfire. Well I didn’t start it but I watched Alex start it 😉 His friend came out as well so we sat outside and enjoyed the bonfire. Even though the weather was in the high 80s during the day, it cooled off at night so we could have a fire. Once the fire died down we went inside and fell asleep.

Question of the day: Have you ever tried almond or cashew butter? I always get peanut butter but I feel like I should branch out and don’t know what to try!

  1. “Ghostwalk” sounds really good, can’t wait to hear your final review!

OMG you NEED to try almond butter! I get that now instead of peanut butter! I also love cashew butter and sun butter (sunflower seed butter) but almond is def my fav 🙂 try Justin’s!

    Have a great Saturday, Maureen!
