Happy Tuesday! Thank you for stopping by. How was your Monday? I hope it was better than mine. Have a great day 🙂
The morning started pretty normally with no issues. I had peanut butter cookie dough overnight oats in the fridge. After two weeks without them, I was craving them! They hit the spot and kept me full until lunch at work.
Work was going well…until I spilled my water bottle all over my desk. I really need to keep it higher up so this doesn’t happen. It’s the second time it’s happened to me in recent months too. I only had one paper towel in my desk so instead of awkwardly getting them from the bathroom so I used old papers I had on my desk to wipe it up. I didn’t recycle them but I reused them so it’s still okay for the environment right?
After work, I was excited for an easy 3 mile run. It was another hot day here in central New Jersey, but I made the most of it knowing it’s going to cool down at the end of the week. I listened to Sworn podcast on my run. It looks at different crimes and talks to law enforcement, people that knew the victims, and looks at evidence. As I was running, a guy yells out the window of the truck at me which just made me so mad. I don’t know what he yelled, but I assume it was a crude remark which just annoyed me to no end. I was in a tank top and shorts, leave me alone you gross pig.
Once I was home, stretched, showered and in pjs, I tackled a few cleaning tasks that needed to be done. Normally we’ll clean on the weekends but this past weekend we had so much to do that cleaning didn’t happen. I was still annoyed from spilling my water bottle and the guy from my run but I laughed out loud at this video I saw as I scrolled through Facebook. I’m against animal cruelty but if the mom pig does it to the baby then it’s not as bad right? A mother wouldn’t hurt her baby and it really just put a smile on my face.
Then it was time for dinner. I had minimal work to do since we threw some brats onto our George Foreman. We heated up some leftover rice and paired it all with some salad. Delicious and simple. \
After dinner, I got comfortable on the couch and finished “Secrets of a Charmed Life” by Susan Meissner. If you haven’t read it, go pick it up from your library!! I loved it so much. It’s about two sisters during World War II who are evacuated from London but a war event changes the course of their lives. A history student at Oxford is interviewing a 93 year old woman who lived during the time. It’s suspenseful but not in the typical suspense way since it’s more of an emotionally suspense. I was curious what would happen the whole time and adored the ending. Alex and I watched some “Arrested Development” to wind down and relax then headed to bed.
Question of the day: What’s a high from your Monday?
