I’m All About Bowls

Happy Fri-yay! I’m so excited for this weekend because it’s finally going to be fall like weather here in Princeton, New Jersey. I hope work goes by quickly for you all. Have a great day πŸ™‚

Waking up wasn’t bad at all which was surprising after my day off. Once I was ready for work I made myself breakfast. I recreated my breakfast from Tuesday minus the sausage. One of my errands from yesterday was picking up more Frank’s hot sauce so the taste was fresher since it wasn’t the last few drops off the bottle. It’s the little things, like new hot sauce, that make my day. Also I’m not sure why my glass of milk looks yellow haha.

During lunch, I finished my book. I’m not usually a memoir person since I find they can be uninteresting and dry.Β “A Long Way Home”Β was not this way at all! Personally, I felt that it read as fiction during some parts although the end was a little dry but not terrible by any means. If you like nonfiction or a feel good story, I recommend this book. If you have a Goodreads account leave it down below in the comments! A few of us went on a friending spree yesterday and you should join us all.

I was so excited for my run yesterday afternoon. The temperatures are cooling down and it was high 70s when I went out with lower humidity and a breeze. It felt so good! I tried out my new running shoes and they felt good and no blisters. After one or two more runs with them I’ll make a final verdict but so far it looks like I’ll keep them. I did 4 miles and was supposed to keep them between 9:15-9:30 but the middle two were a little fast. This surprised me since I was going against the wind so I felt like I was going slow.

I showered and put my pjs on once I got home. Since it wasn’t hot and humid, Alex and I chatted on our porch for a while. Alex starts his new job in New York City on Monday so we’re soaking in the extra time we have on weeknights now since his commute will be about an hour and a half from door to door. Eventually we got hungry, so we headed in to heat up leftovers. I made myself a burrito bowl/salad with chicken, Spanish rice, black beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and salsa. For whatever reason, my meals this week have been mostly in bowls. I’m not complaining though. I love throwing a bunch of stuff into a bowl for an easy meal.

After dinner, we were looking for a movie to watch. We found the newΒ “Beauty and the Beast”Β on Netflix and turned it on. I saw this movie when it came out in the spring in the theater and loved it just and much the second time. While I know there are a few new songs in this movie, the plot was basically the same which I loved. I think Disney did a great job with such a beloved movie. Plus Emma Watson is beautiful and great actress. Actually, I think the movie was very well cast for every character. When the movie was over, we ended to bed.

Question of the day: Did you see Beauty and the Beast? If so, what did you think? If not, tell me about the last movie you saw!

  1. I’m excited for it to cool down!! I needed 3 more showers after walking around town the other day at 90 degrees! I LOVED Beauty and the Beast! Of course I bought it and now it’s on Netflix! haha. but I could watch it again and gain!

    1. Isn’t that the worst!? September is almost over so it shouldn’t be so hot out. Disney is taking everything off of Netflix in 2019 to make their own streaming service so it’s probably better you bought it.

Have a great day, Amanda πŸ™‚

  2. That salad/burrito bowl looks awesome, that is one of my favorite meals. I haven’t seen Beauty and the Beast yet, but saw that it’s on Netflix now, so planning to check it out soon. Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. It was so good! It used so many leftovers which I loved. Your kids would probably enjoy it! Although I will say they could get scared from the wolf scene but that’s also in the original so maybe they won’t. Thank you! Enjoy your weekend πŸ™‚

  3. Great job on your run!
We saw the new Beauty and the Beast a few months ago and overall I really liked it! I like Emma Watson, but I felt like she almost was too young for Belle?? Or maybe I just pictured Belle to be older and more womanly?? I don’t know if that makes any sense!
    Enjoy your weekend πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! No I get what you’re saying! I have a feeling they picked Emma Watson because she’s not a child actor but since so many people love her in Harry Potter it drew people in but she’s not an old actress. I hope that makes sense! Plus Belle is also young in age too.

Thanks Erinn! Have a great weekend πŸ™‚

    1. Luckily it’s on Netflix so if you have that it’s easy to watch at any time! Burritos are so good but they always fall apart on me so I just forget the wrap and throw it all in a bowl instead to save myself the frustration πŸ™‚

  4. My goodness, I ADORE the new Beauty and the Beast. It’s magical and well-done. While I love new fairytale plots as well, I thought it was beautiful how they kept to the original plot.

Also my Goodreads is Tialla Rising (shocker, haha), if you want to add me! I’m an author, so my profile might look a little different than normal, not sure, but I’m on there! I love that you have book recommendations every week. I’m a slow reader and it typically takes me about three weeks to get through a novel, so you’re inspiring. πŸ™‚

    1. Yes! I was so glad that the very minor plot details they added, like the trip to Paris, wasn’t a plot changing event.

I added you! Oh my gosh, thank you so much for saying that! It’s so sweet of you! I’m a really fast reader so I fly through books. It’s a blessing and a curse.

      1. It really was so well done! I think they incorporated it beautifully. πŸ™‚ Awesome! What’s your Goodreads name? I totally wish I was a faster reader. Sometimes it’s overwhelming when I think about all the books in the world I haven’t read yet and I just want to read them ALL, haha.
