An Old Favorite

Hello everyone! I hope you have something fun on the agenda today. Have a great Saturday 🙂

I got up and showered pretty easily which was a nice changed after two slow mornings. After I was dressed, I went to make breakfast. I quickly scrambled an egg and cut up an apple and put peanut butter in the bowl. I haven’t had an apple and peanut butter in forever! It’s one of my favorite snacks and I can’t believe it’s been so long so I had it. So tasty!

During lunch, I kept up on reading “The Reason You’re Alive”. I’m loving it! Just a warning though, there are curse words and some not politically correct names in it. The main character is David Granger, a 68 year old, Vietnam veteran who finds out he has a brain tumor. He is telling a story (I don’t want to give spoilers) and the writing style is awesome. The author, Matthew Quick, makes it seem as though it’s a conversation you are having with David and not a book you’re reading.

I got home from work and did some things around the apartment. Recently, I’ve been neglecting updating my planner. I turned on an episode of “Big Little Lies” to watch while I got up to date on everything. It felt so good to write everything down. When the episode ended, I laid on the couch and read.

When Alex got home, I threw some leftovers into the oven to heat up. I really wanted to just order takeout but we’re on a budget so I knew it wouldn’t be worth the money. I had the last of the buffalo chicken potato casserole and it still tasted good! Considering I made it Sunday and it was good 5 nights later is a win in my book.

The rest of the night was spent just hanging out on the couch chatting. It was relaxing and a great way to start off the weekend after getting a bunch of things done after work.

Question of the day: What did you have for dinner last night? I want some ideas for our dinners next week!

  1. I’ve gotta check out that book! I had sweetgreen for dinner last night, of course 🙂 I need to cook more next week because I’ve been eating out too much recently!

    Have a great Saturday, Maureen!

    1. Read it! I told Alex that he would like it too. The writing is really funny and raw, I love it. I’m not surprised you had sweetgreen. You always seem to get such a yummy salad there! I’m the opposite, I am not in the mood to cook dinner right now.

Thanks, Marina! Have a great day girl 🙂
