Happy Friday!! I’m so excited for today because I get to be home and sleep in my own bed tonight. I hope you all have a fantastic day 🙂
Quick update – sorry for the late post! I thought I hit publish before I left the hotel (and wifi).
I accidentally fell asleep until 6:37am yesterday morning. I’m normally in the restaurant by 7:05 to eat breakfast so I rushed around getting ready. Somehow I managed to get to the restaurant around 7:15 which was not bad at all! I ordered an omelette with bacon, spinach and cheddar, wheat toast and I asked for fruit instead of potatoes. Unfortunately they brought the potatoes but since I was rushed I didn’t correct them. The potatoes were good though! I just missed fruit.
When we went to Alex’s parent house for dinner on Sunday, his sister was starting to get sick. Then Tuesday, Alex said he was starting to feel sick. Low and behold, my throat started hurting Wednesday after work 😦
I went to a Walgreen’s and picked up generic brand of emergen-c and throat lozenges. They were on hand all day at work with me. I’m praying I don’t get sick but Alex’s while family (except his dad) are feeling a little under the weather. Of course this happens when I’m starting a new job and traveling. Some things you just can’t control!
Work is slowly getting better since I’m starting to remember things. I went to the cafeteria in the basement and grabbed a turkey wrap and chips for lunch. It was quite tasty.
After work, I went back to the hotel. The lobby has a little happy hour type thing near the front desk. They have some small treats and flavored lemonade. I have no clue what the flavors were today but it was pink and delicious!
For dinner, I felt lazy and didn’t want to drive anywhere. Plus there was some sort of event so parking was limited. I was going to walk somewhere close to the hotel but it was dark by the time I was hungry. To be on the safe side, I went to the hotel’s restaurant for a simple dinner. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a pretty picky eater. The hotel restaurant had some slightly fancy food (for my taste) so dinner was a Caesar salad and fries. Balance right?!
I went back to my room and started packing. It was a bit of a Tetris game because I now had my computer case to bring back on top of everything I brought. A plus for being a packaging engineer is being able to put lots of things into a smal area efficiently 🙂 I got in bed and watched “Shark Tank” for the rest of the night.
Question of the day: What’s on your agenda for this Friday??
