Sunday In Pictures Vol. 5

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend and have a wonderful week. Enjoy your day 🙂

Sunday started out with a little reading in bed. I wasn’t ready to get up just yet.

An asiago bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. A local bagel shop sends out coupons for we got 8 for the price of 6 and will freeze majority of them for the future.

Taking my time to drink my tea while relaxing for a bit (and watching Stranger Things)

Making a list of the errands I have to run so I don’t forget anything.

A trip to the library was much needed! I got 3 books that I”m excited to read.

Folding laundry while listening to Up and Vanished. I’m a little behind on my podcasts so I’ve been playing catch up.

A ham sandwich with pretzels and hummus for lunch.

Homemade pumpkin bread makes the apartment smell so good! I will have a recipe up for this later this week 🙂

What getting ready for the morning looks like for us. A slight mess but it makes getting out the door so much easier.

Reading by the fire before dinner. Are you sick of fire pictures yet?

Leftover chili for dinner. If you haven’t tried putting chili over noodles, I highly suggest it! Alex says it makes the meal.

Movie night with “When Harry Met Sally”. Neither Alex nor I had ever seen it.

His and her’s slices of pie for dessert during the movie.

Question of the day: What was the high from your weekend?

      1. It really depends, I used to check out 20 books at a time as a kid but I grew into the habit of reading a few pages and then just stopping. I like fun love stories, some mystery, and historical fiction based on queens. And I also liked The 5 People You Meet in Heaven. It depends 😁

      2. Okay so here are a few in different genres that I’ve really enjoyed. Let me know if you want more details about any! I don’t want to make this comment turn into a novel lol
The Reason You’re Alive by Matthew Quick
        Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

  1. It’s report card season, so my high for this weekend was FINALLY finishing all of my special education progress reports. Paperwork has been getting the better of me recently, so it felt awesome to get ahead.

  2. Yum, pumpkin bread sounds perfect right now! And asiago bagels are the best.
Love how you guys have a wood fireplace – my favorite smell ever.
I had 2 highs from the weekend: throwing my sister-in-law’s baby shower and family pictures!

    1. I can’t wait to finish my run tonight and have a piece of the bread. A wood fireplace was the one thing Alex wanted for our apartment and I’m so glad we found it.
That’s so fun! I can’t wait to read about the shower and see how the pictures come out.

  3. You always inspire me with your weekends! You are so productive and yet find time for such great rest. I also love how many books you read- I feel like I’m never able to find time (but in reality it’s all about prioritization!). That pumpkin bread looks SUPER good too. Cannot wait for the recipe!! XO

    1. Oh gosh, that is so sweet of you to say!! Over the summer, I realized that I like to relax on weekends but if I just sit on the couch all day then I go stir crazy. So I try to run an errand or two each day, cake, try a new recipe, craft, etc. so I don’t get that way 🙂
I love to read and I read at least a little every day. Actually I use my lunch break to read so that I truly get a break from work which is nice.
I hope to have the recipe up on Wednesday so check back! It’s so easy and delish.

      Have a wonderful day girl!

  4. I love asiago bagels with cream cheese! That used to be my order when we would go to Bruggers Bagels or Einstein’s Bagels. And yes I have tried chili over pasta, rice, quinoa, etc and i agree, its always delicious! 😀

    1. I love them! Although I feel like they can get a little greasy almost once toasted. I still eat them though and just have an extra napkin on hand.
I’ve never tried chili over anything but pasta. I’ve heard a few people say rice though and they seem to like it!

    1. Haha it was cute! We both really liked it. The movie was actually Alex’s idea so I grabbed it from the library. The pumpkin pie was a gift of his mom. Her office has a Thanksgiving lunch with a ton of leftovers. Lol I’m going to be pied out after Thanksgiving next week.

    1. Right now I am reading “Leaving Time” by Jodi Picoult. It’s really good and I’m about halfway through! Chili over noodles is the best! I thought that’s how everyone ate them until I went to college and people looked at my like I was crazy when I said that’s what I did lol.

    1. I’m putting the recipe up on Wednesday if you feel so inclined to try it out. I bet you could even make it gluten free for yourself by using gluten free flour!
And I got a few: “You are a Badass” by Jen Sincero, “My Notorious Life” by Kate Manning, and “The Little Paris Bookshop” by Nina George.

      1. I will try to try it this week so I can comment. I want to try one early in the week so I can taste test it and then I’ll make the real one on Sunday:)
        Those all sound good!!!

      2. I love baking so it’s not a hardship and it looked so good on your blog!!
Can’t wait to hear about them- my TBR is growing like crazy!!

  5. Reading in bed on Sunday mornings is my favorite thing to do! And of course, pumpkin bread is LIFE. I honestly will eat an entire loaf of that stuff if it’s in the house! We baked cookies instead and those are quickly disappearing too. Whoops!
    Have a great week!

    1. Reading in bed is so relaxing! Sometimes a little too relaxing and I’ll fall asleep lol. I’m shocked I’ve only eaten one slice of the bread…so far 😉 currently we have cookies, cake, pie and pumpkin bread in the apartment. Oops!
Thank you! Have a great week as well!

  6. Looks like totally the perfect Sunday! I love how relaxed yet productive it was for you! Also, I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m loving the fire pictures! Keep them coming!
I have never heard of chili over pasta, but it sounds like it would be really good! I will have to try it next time! My husband likes putting chili over Fritos (Frito Pie), but I’m not a fan. This sounds better, lol.

    1. I’ve realized that as much as I love to lounge around on weekends, I get a little stir crazy. So I find something to do everyday to get out of the apartment for a bit. It works best for me 🙂
Yes you have to try chili over pasta! I converted Alex and he said it makes the meal. I could see Frito Pie being good for camping or something similar but not if I’m just eating dinner at home. To each their own 🙂

      1. I feel the same way too! I love staying home, but I need to get out for just a bit or I get cranky, lol. I will totally be trying the pasta next time; it looks so good! Right? It would be a great camping meal, but otherwise not so much. 😉

      2. I feel like Alex and your husband could swap stories about up getting cranky staying inside too long lol. Use elbow noodles for the best effect! I accidentally bought the wrong kind of pasta noodles 🙄 still tasty though but elbows works best in my opinion

      3. Probably, haha! I am a homebody, but staying home on a relaxed day is in my opinion best experienced with some kind of outing as well. 😉 Ooh, sounds good, thanks for the tip!
