Happy hump day y’all! How are you today? I hope your week is going well and that you have a wonderful day 🙂
I was happy to see that my alarm going off wasn’t as shocking yesterday as it was Monday morning. After getting ready for work, I headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. Another day of scrambled eggs and toast for the most important meal of the day! I can’t decide if I’m picky because I’m a creature of habit or if I’m a creature of habit because of I’m picky… Either way, once I find a meal I like I stick with it.
Work was good. It was one of those days where I felt like I did nothing and yet did so much. Please tell me I’m not the only one who has work days like that! As always, I used my lunch break to read “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”. If you like to read, I recommend doing this! Your lunch is supposed to be an actual break yet so many people work through it. Take your break, you deserve it!
After work, I changed and headed out for my 3 mile recovery run. I wasn’t paying any attention to the mile splits until I got home. When I looked at my watch I was shocked, every mile was the exact same pace – 10:43. That has never happened to me! I was almost in disbelief lol. Talk about being consistent with pacing last night.
By the time I stretched, foam rolled, showered, changed, and made our lunches for work Alex was home. We weren’t too hungry at the moment so we had a couple of cheese and crackers while I prepped the veggies for the oven. I cut up broccoli and potatoes to roast. Once that was going, I pulled out the George Foreman to use on chicken breasts. With minimal work, a delicious dinner was ready.
Once dinner was cleaned up, we were sitting on the couch deciding what to do. A few nights ago Alex joking mentioned wrapping extra boxes we have to put under the tree. Guess what we spent our night doing. Finding random boxes we weren’t using and wrapped them to put under the tree. It looks very nice and put together now! While it might seem silly to wrap fake presents, my family’s presents are currently sitting in boxes at my parents house in Chicago. Those won’t even make it under our tree and Alex’s family’s gifts will be dropped off at his parents before Christmas. We can’t have no gifts under the tree for the whole season!
Question of the day: What are some of your favorite Christmas movies? Alex and I have a long list we’re trying to get through but are open to suggestions!
