Trader Joe’s Got Me Again

Happy Fri-yay! Can you believe it’s December 1st? How is it December already? I feel like summer was yesterday! 2018 will be here before we know it. Have a great day πŸ™‚

Since my morning has not changed at all this week, I figured instead of boring you will another picture of eggs and toast I would share the current tea I’ve been drinking. Chai tea is something I really enjoy thanks to Starbucks chai tea lattes. I figured since those aren’t the healthiest, I would try different versions of chai tea and have been doing so for about 3 years now. My current pick is from the brand Stash and it’s theirΒ chai spiceΒ black tea. So good and flavorful!

Work was uneventful except for the fire drill my office had. Everyone was joking that of course they did it on Thursday when it was in the high 40s instead of Wednesday when it was almost 60. Is New Jersey the only part of the country having super weird weather this fall? I think I’ve broken up a big sweater only once this fall which is crazy.

After work, I headed out for a speed workout. It was an interval workout that involved getting shorter time intervals but faster paces. I wasn’t too sure about how it would go, but I kept an open mind and surprised myself at how I enjoyed it. Although I haven’t looked at my times yet, I’m really happy with how my legs felt during it. When I got home, I pulled out my must haves for post runs: water, foam roller and a frozen golf ball. If you have a golf ball around your house, stick it in the freezer. It’s amazing to rub your feet and arches on post runs.

Alex had another work event in the city so it was just me for dinner. I roasted a potato, broccoli, and brussel sprouts to enjoy. Since I am obsessed with roasted potato topped with ketchup and hot sauce, I put that on a plate to enjoy instead of in the bowl. Such an easy, filling and delicious dinner. While I ate, I realized that I ate vegetarian all day yesterday and the day before. So strange for me since I’m pretty picky so meat is a great source of nutrients for me. Maybe I’ll have to go meatless a few times a week more often.

Once I cleaned up from dinner, I headed out to run some errands. I don’t typically run errands on weeknights unless it’s right from work but we needed milk and a few other things from Target. At a Target slightly farther away, there’s a Michaels next door. Since I had a return I figured I’d pop over there before Target. And since Trader Joe’s was on the way home, I figured why not stop there too for more Just Fruit bars… Because you always leave TJ’s with exactly what you’re looking for, I got the bars, dried pineapple, bread, fruit leather, pizza sauce and a bottle of wine. I need to stop going to TJ’s with my credit card and just bring cash to limit myself.Β Also TJ’s where were the candy cane Joe-Joe’s this year?! I love those things and was going to buy seven boxes one box.

When I got home, I put on my clay face mask and got on the couch to finish my book. I finishedΒ “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”Β and I recommend it. The novel is about a movie star, Evelyn Hugo, who is telling her life story to a reporter. It’s something I think everyone can relate to since it deals with love and heartbreak. Do yourself a favor and go pick it up! I think you’ll be satisfied.

After I finished, I decided to eat a leftover truffle from Thanksgiving and finish my cheesy Christmas movie on Netflix.Β “A Christmas Prince” was every bit as cheesy as I expected. Once it ended, I turned “Friends” on. The hope was that I would stay awake to say hi to Alex but I fell asleep on the couch. Oh well, it’s the thought that counts right?!

Question of the day: What’s your favorite Trader Joe’s item?

  1. Freezing a golf ball is a great idea! I used to freeze soup cans for my arches.
I haven’t shopped at Trader Joe’s in years..there aren’t any close to my house!
    Enjoy your weekend πŸ™‚

    1. A frozen soup can, interesting! I’ve also used frozen water bottles that are filled about halfway with water before.
Are there any Aldi’s by you? Fun fact- Aldi’s and Trader Joe’s are own by the same parent company and some of the items are the exact same but in different packaging.
Thanks Erinn! Have a wonderful day πŸ™‚

  2. I will have to try a frozen golf ball, I never would have thought to do that, but it sounds amazing! Oh TJs, it is just impossible to buy only what you went in for, I always walk out with the most random things. I love their dried mango and sunflower butter.

    1. It’s awesome and barely takes up space in the freezer which I like. It’s a bit of a love/hate relationship since it can be painful (in a good way) but my feet love it. TJ’s just has the best stuff and good prices and it doesn’t seem as unhealthy as things I find in my typical grocery store. I haven’t tried their dried mango but I’m adding it to the list!

  3. I do most of my grocery shopping at TJs so have to be careful, especially with all of the holiday items! I love so many things there, but some of my favorites are their cinamon raisin bread, their corn and flour tortillas, and their vegetable masala burgers (frozen). I love buying their holiday treats for stocking stuffers too!

  4. After reading blogs I think it’s a very good thing that I don’t have Trader Joe’s near me! Lol
Last night must have been an errand night as I went out to do some too which is unusual!

    1. If you have an Aldi’s that’s basically the same thing! It’s the best and worst thing since they have awesome products but I always leave with way more than I intended to.
How strange! It was kind of nice to get some stuff done on a weeknight.

      1. No we don’t have any fancy places really. I have a difficult enough time going across the street to the grocery store. I always
It was nice to be efficient:)

  5. Haha we were JUST at Trader Joes and they got us too! I love grabbing all their pre-sliced produce as snacks, and their tofu spring rolls are so yummy. But my absolute favorite product of theirs is the hatch chili mac and cheese. Ugh, I could eat that every day!
Our Trader Joes doesn’t have wine though, so sad!

    1. It’s crazy how good their food is! Hatch chili mac and cheese sounds amazing. I’m definitely picking it up next time I stop in!
I’m actually surprised my TJ’s has wine! New Jersey has weird liquor laws and you have to be at an actual liquor store to buy any alcohol. I’ll take it though πŸ™‚
