Nice And Slow Miles

Happy hump day! Half way through the week already. How has your week been thus far? I hope it’s been a good one. Have a great day πŸ™‚


Yesterday started a little earlier than normal when Alex’s alarm went at 4:45. He had a work event in the city so he had to catch a 6:15 am train. I got to sleep in a little later until my normal alarm went off. Once I was ready I headed to the kitchen. I grabbed some waffles out of the freezer and popped them into the toaster oven to warm up. When they were done, I topped it with some peanut butter and chia seeds for breakfast.

I ran out at lunch to pick something up at the tailor’s. That only left me with about 30 minutes of reading once I got back while I ate. I know, 30 minutes is better than nothing but I love that hour in my day to take a long break from work and just escape into my book. “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” just got to a really good part and all I wanted to do was spend the rest of my day reading.


Once I was changed, I heading out on my 4 mile run. This time it was actually at a recovery pace which was awesome! I feel like these runs always feel the hardest for whatever reason but I know they are important so I try not to push the pace. Key word being try πŸ˜‰ When I got home, I stretched and foam rolled before taking a quick shower.


Alex got home shortly after I got back and we were both pretty hungry. We got out leftovers from the fridge and heated a bunch up for our dinner. I put potatoes, shredded chicken, a little cheese and hot sauce into a bowl. To get some veggies, I put roasted brussel sprouts and broccoli onto a plate.

Once dinner was cleaned up, I worked on my next DIY Christmas gift. Guys they are turning out so cute! I will have a post up next week with how to do them all so be on the look out for that if you are interested πŸ™‚ Before fully cleaning up, I made some overnight oats so they could set in the fridge overnight.

After that was all done, I curled up on the couch while burning a candle. Alex turned onΒ “Bad Santa”Β which I had never seen before. I don’t really recommend it. It was pretty bad in my opinion and we didn’t even finish it.

    1. I watched that movie actually! I was dying when I saw that 53 people watched it once a for 18 days. Who has that much time on their hand?! Is it going to become a classic Christmas film? No, but it is cute and entertaining.


  1. I saw Bad Santa way back when it came out and I remember thinking it was funny, but I don’t think I’d think it’s funny now! I’m okay with raunchy humor as long as it’s actually funny and not raunchy just to be raunchy.


  2. Yum! Waffles! One of my all-time favorite boss ladies, Lauren Graham, is in Bad Santa. There’s a redeeming factor if you weren’t into the movie itself! My workout yesterday was a three-mile run + a super short upper body circuit. Trucking along one day at a time for this half-marathon training. We’re about finished with Week 4!


      1. That’s definitely the point of cold nights in December lol. I’ve always loved Christmas but it’s growing on me a lot more this year. Maybe because I’m out of school so I don’t have to deal with finals, haha who knows though.

      2. Oh definitely!! Much better to just worry about what I want to give the people I love than stress about what type of test to use in order to figure out the strength of cardboard. The life of a packaging engineer lol.

      3. For sure! I love learning things, just hated the stress of having to figure out what each prof wanted and then trying to give it to them:(
