Happy Friday Eve! I’m taking a few hours off tonight to go do something fun and I can’t wait to share with y’all. Have a wonderful day π
Okay you guys, I have to confess something to you. I woke up at my normal time yesterday morning and got dressed for a run. I ate my usual toast with peanut butter and stretched. When I went out the door, I stretched my calves and the wind was COLD. I walked right back up the stairs to our apartment, took my shoes off and got back in bed. Yep, I totally chickened out on the run because of the wind chill! In my defense, when I got in the car two hours later to go to work, the temperature read 19 degrees…
After a little longer in bed, I got up to shower. I piled my running clothes back on the floor and swamped them for my work outfit. Due to a meeting that was from 4-5pm, I went into work at 8am instead of my typical 7 am start time. Instead of rushing after my run, I had time to sit on the couch, drink some Emergen-C and finishing up yesterday’s blog post. My throat felt a little off when I woke up so the hope was that Emergen-C would help kick anything that may be creeping up.
Alex took the morning off to take his final exams for school. His meeting in the city got canceled so he asked if I wanted to come home to lunch. I obviously said yes and hurried home. He couldn’t decide which picture he liked better and wanted y’all to see both lol. Even though I didn’t get a full hour of reading in (one of my favorite parts of the day!) I was happy to get a little bit of time with him during the work day.
Random fact but my boss is located in Detroit, Michigan. They were forecasted to get about 8ish inches of snow so that office got sent home early to avoid any issues. Unfortunately that meant my meeting that was scheduled from 4-5pm got pushed to next week π¦ So I could have worked my normal hours but oh well, can’t change the weather. The last hour surprisingly went by fast which was a nice surprise.
During the last hour or two of work, my throat starting hurting again and my overall mood got more in the dumps a bit. When I was on my way home, I asked Alex to pull out some throat lozenges for me. I put on my pjs when I got home and got comfy on the couch.
For dinner, I felt like doing negative work so roasting potatoes was the only work I did. Alex grilled us some cheeseburgers to enjoy. Per usual, I topped mine with mustard, ketchup, pickles and lettuce. So yummy! I kept telling Alex that the burger was hitting the spot and exactly what I needed.
I spent my night cuddled up on the couch and reading. Alex was sweet and made me some decaf tea while I read. I went to bed nice and early (before 9!) to try and kick whatever it is I caught.
Question of the day:Β
I hope you don’t get full- blown sick. Going to bed early and getting extra rest is a great idea! Feel better!

Hope you are feeling better and not worse! I’m finally over my cold from last week – I found that the liquid dayquil/nyquil worked so much better for me.

I really did! Unfortunately spending last night walking around New York City wasn’t the best decision for my health but it was 110% what my mental health and heart needed. Thanks Deborah! Have a great weekend π

Ahhhh Ben is fighting a bug right now too! He’s literally making ginger turmeric tea at this moment. All this crud that is going around right now is NASTY! I teach and one grade alone had over 20 kids absent.
Make sure you get lots and LOTS of rest and fluids (especially after your NY escapades!).
We hope you feel better soon!

20 kids were gone one day?! That’s insanity!
Tell Ben we’re fighting this together and I totally feel his pain. Definitely spending lots of time on the couch this weekend and doing small things every day to finish getting ready for the holidays.
Thank you so much Susie! That’s so sweet of you to say π
