Sunday In Pictures, Weekend

Sunday In Pictures Vol. 11

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Can you believe one week from today is Christmas? That’s absolutely crazy to me! Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

Pancakes for breakfast with a big cup of tea.

Packing up Christmas presents so we don’t have to worry about them on Christmas day.

Lunch at Alex’s grandparents house – lorraine quiche, a ham slider and salad.

Texas sheet cake that Alex’s aunt made. It was delicious.

I finished “Murder on the Orient Express” and really want to see the movie now.

Leftover pasta for dinner.

The rest of the night was spent on the couch watching “Get Out”. I thought it would be scary but it’s more of a thriller and both Alex and I enjoyed it.

Question of the day: What was the high from your weekend?

  1. Those pancakes seriously look SO good! And I definitely can’t believe Christmas is only a week away. This year has flown by so quickly!! Hope you have a wonderful Monday, Maureen!

  2. What is it about Texas sheet cake that makes it so good?? It’s a rare treat for me but I just love it! I think my weekend high was finishing my holiday shopping. My husband made breakfast on Sunday and it was lovely to wake to the smell of someone else cooking! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I had never had Texas sheet cake until yesterday. So good!! I want to make it now. Pancakes are my boyfriend’s domain so he’s in charge of breakfast on Sunday and I love it. Gives me some extra time in bed ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. I had never had quiche until yesterday and now I want to learn how to make it. So yummy! It was a relief to deliver those presents yesterday because I knew they’d be forgotten while traveling. Now they’ll be where they belong on Christmas Day!

    1. I’ll be honest – I was skeptical going into it because I thought it would be stupid. My boyfriend’s aunt said it was really good which is why I even considered watching it. So good though!! You’re right, there’s a ton of symbolism. I heard some people think it could get award nominations and now I get why.

      1. I believe that it deserves nominations, but unfortunately there are other factors (institutionalized racism) that play into that. I wish more movies addressed real issues the way Get Out did!

      2. Yeah it was entertaining and not in your face about the issue it wanted to address which I liked. I personally dislike when movies are super in your face with the issue it’s trying to address.
