Happy Saturday! Are you ready for another long weekend? I’m exciting for the start of 2018 but don’t want this year to end since it’s been so good. Have a great day 🙂
Not having an alarm to have to wake up to was amazing. Well it went off but I turned it off and went right to sleep. Am I the only person who keeps everyday alarms on even when they’re off work? I’m so afraid that I’ll forget to turn them on when I go back to work. Anyways, I got up, showered, dressed for the day and the made breakfast. Bacon and eggs for the win!
Alex and I both had some returns and exchanges to do from Christmas gifts and since we had to go to the exact same stores we did them together. You guys, it took basically the entire day! Granted we stopped at his parents house to help them with something and dropped his car back off since it was still making a noise. But still, it was insane.
We were planning on eating leftover soup at home but since we were out much longer than planned, it was necessary to stop for lunch. Alex got to pick so naturally he picked his favorite place – Hoagie Haven in downtown Princeton.
By the time we got home, we were exhausted. I sat on the couch and got lost scrolling through Instagram. Anyone else do that while zoning out? After longer than I’d care to admit, it was time to eat and get ready for a party. We ate a super late lunch (after 2 pm…) so neither of us were that hungry and also weren’t 100% sure if there would be dinner at the party so we played it safe and had small bowls of soup and popovers. I can safely say both recipes were good as leftovers and I recommend heating the popovers up.
A family friend of the Anderson’s was having a late Christmas party and invited us. We went for a bit and chatted with the people we knew and met some new people as well. Is anyone else awkward at parties where they don’t know a ton of people? I swear all I do is meet new people and can never remember their names since it’s a whirlwind. Anyway, it was really nice to get out for a bit. Plus they had some pizza cut up into tiny pieces so Alex and I grabbed a small plate and put a few slices since dinner was small for us.
We stayed at the party for a bit then headed home. I pulled out all of my running gear so that it would be ready for me in the morning. Then I typed this blog post up and got ready for bed.
Question of the day: Do you guys get sick of seeing Maureen’s breakfast since she eat the same thing every day? Alex is dying to know.
