Happy Tuesday friends! How was your long weekend? I’m back to work today after almost two weeks off and I think it’ll be rough. Hope you all have an amazing day 🙂
Due to being up late and drinking, yesterday started off incredibly late. Like skip breakfast because it’s not lunch time late. Sorry not sorry 😉 We had leftover cheesesteaks in the fridge that Alex popped into the oven once he was dressed and while I finished getting ready. Since there were absolutely no plans for the day, I got ready by putting on a comfy tshirt and workout shorts. Yes it’s January and I was in shorts but 1) I didn’t go outside in them and 2) I wanted the giant cut on my knee from slipping on ice to breathe a bit.
I planned on going for a run later in the day but it was cold out (feels like was under 10 degrees all day!) and I want to see if the pain of walking will go away. It probably sounds dramatic from just a fall but guys, I don’t have knee caps anymore since it’s basically just completely bruised. Be careful on ice people!! In the spirit of working out, I decided to unbox my new headphones that Alex’s parents graciously gave to me for Christmas. First of all the packaging was awesome on it (nerd alert) and the sound was amazing. I barely had the volume up for them and they worked so well. I have not run with them yet so I’m not sure how they will be for that but I think they’ll stay in my ears well. If you’re in the market for bluetooth headphones, I say give the Fitbit Flyers a try! You don’t need a Fitbit to use them as a heads up.
Once the headphones were working, I worked on taking the Christmas tree down. There was a total fail because the bin I bought from Target was broken. Of course I didn’t notice that until after everything was packed up though. So I dumped it into a pile on the floor and put the bin by the door since I decided to go to Target later in the day. Alex and I decided to leave the rest of the decorations up though so it’s not completely sad looking yet.
While at Target, I looked at the 2018 planners and finally found one I liked! When I say I’ve been looking every time I got since November I’m not kidding. Target still had a ton so if you’re in the market for a good planner I would check your local Target. Since I may have had one (or two…) too many drinks on New Year’s Eve, I impulse bought a Naked juice to get some fruit into my body.
Alex started a fire and I cuddled up on the couch to finish “The Beginning of Everything”. It was a cute story that I liked. The overall message was that people are fighting battles that you never see. Personally, I try to remember that all the time but it’s always good to get a simple reminder. For dinner, I threw together a pizza for us to enjoy. I ended up buying a couple of pizza crusts at the store when they were on sale and froze the ones we didn’t use right away. I didn’t think we would use them up so quickly but we did. I need to stock back up on them!
After we ate, we cleaned up then cuddled on the couch to relax. We turned on episode two of “The Crown”. I love the drama in the show because it’s based on true events. I’m interested to see what, if any, input the Royal family has on the subjects. They probably don’t even care but I’m curious since some of it can shed certain members in a negative light. When the episode was over, we hung out on the couch while the fire burned down enough for us to safely head to bed.
Question of the day: How did you spend the first day of 2018?
