Happy Sunday! How was your Saturday? Are you off tomorrow? I feel like some people are and other’s aren’t so its almost a half long weekend. Have a great day 🙂
Saturday started off with me waking up for a nice run! I had 7 miles on the agenda and it felt good to get out for a while. When I first woke up, I wasn’t super excited to get out of bed and go. This shirt that I got in the Christmas grab bag from my cousin was the perfect base layer under my wind breaker. There was randomly some strong wind on my run which was nice because I feel like I never run with wind so I enjoyed the added challenge.
When I got home, I quickly showered and got ready for the day. Typically I don’t get hungry after long runs for a while but I was famished yesterday so I had a scrambled egg before we planned errands for the day. Alex had a little work to figure out so I started a book my grandma gave to me. “An Accidental Life” by Pamela Binnings Ewen is based on a true story of a nurse who testified before Congress of babies that were still alive after abortions and essentially placed in a room to lay until they passed. I had no idea this story existed until I started this book.
One of our errands was a haircut for Alex and it was packed. No joke, I think we waited about 30 minutes for his turn. I was so happy I brought my book with me to read. Since it took so long, by the time we finished we were both starving. Luckily there was a Subway right by the barbershop so we made a pitstop for lunch. A turkey sandwich was perfect fuel for the rest of the afternoon. I packed it with a bunch of veggies to really fill me up.
After getting home, I posted up on the couch to keep reading. Alex’s parents invited us over to watch the Eagle’s playoff game. I have no idea exactly what his mom made but it was a chicken recipe from an Ina Garten cookbook. Y’all it was so delicious. The gravy/sauce was so flavorful that I could have had a bowl of that with a loaf of bread and been satisfied for dinner.
The Eagles ended up beating the Falcons 15-10 in the final few minutes of the game. Alex and i headed home. He made a fire while I typed up this post and tidied up around the house. We cuddled up on the couch and finished the comedy special on Netflix. Fore whatever reason, apple pie sounded good so I heated up some leftovers that were in the freezer. We ate those, hung out by the first for a while and then headed to bed.
Question of the day: Are you a football fan? If so, is your team in the playoffs?
