All I Do Is Read

Happy Tuesday! How was your Monday? I had a pretty good one and I hope you started the week off on a good note. Have a great day πŸ™‚

Is anyone surprised that I started the day with scrambled eggs and toast? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?Β Please tell me you know that reference… I’m still enjoying that and probably won’t change my tune anytime soon. Maybe once it’s summer I’ll be adventurous and add fruit…maybe.

After work, I changed and headed out for my run. It was in the low 50s so I opted to wear capris, a short sleeve shirt and light quarter zip. I honestly think I could have just gone out in shorts and a t shirt. It was gorgeous out!! I ended up finishing my run with just the shirt on and carrying the quarter zip. I did 5 miles with the middle 3 involving 1 minute sprints with 3 minutes recovery jog. When I got back, I did knee ups on the stairs leading up to the apartment and some sumo squats.

A quick shower before I started on dinner. Burrito bowls were on the agenda. I had to make another batch of salsa and got that chilling in the fridge. While the rice cooked, I made lunches and cooked the ground beef. By the time everything was done, I was ready to dig in. I put some rice, beef, lots of black beans. cheese, lettuce, salsa and just a tiny dollop of sour cream in my bowl.

Once dinner was cleaned up, I finished my book. I told Alex that all I wanted to do last night was finish the book since I had 15 pages left. Simonson hit an important message with her book about being inclusive without making it super obvious, in my opinion. The entire book is about Major Pettigrew and the unlikely friendship he starts with the Pakistani shop keeper in his small town in the English countryside. The characters were great and I wish the Major was a real person I could meet.

To end my night, I started a new book.Β Dark MatterΒ by Blake Crouch was one I saw on a list of books someone read last year. They gave it really high reviews so I looked up up on Goodreads. Both on that site and Barnes & Noble it has over 4 star rating. When I saw it at the library I added it to my pile. I promise I do more than just read… I sipped on some Sleepytime tea while reading.

Question of the day: What was a high from your Monday?

  1. Girl you really do read a lot! I always read before bed, but last night I barely made it through a couple pages before I felt my self drifting off to sleep πŸ™‚

  2. I am seriously jealous of how much you read!! I wish I could get myself back into the habit. I’ve been trying to read at work and before bed, but I can’t always take a lunch break (and sometimes, when I do, I’m so tired of reading that I can’t bring myself to read for pleasure), and I frequently pass out the second my head hits the pillow, so that doesn’t always work out either.

I am working through a book I really like right now, little by little! You’ve definitely inspired me though πŸ™‚

    1. I love reading during my lunch break! I’m so happy I have the ability to. Since I was young, I’ve always enjoyed reading. It sucked being in college and not reading as much.

You’ll have to let me know what you think of the book when it’s done! I love getting suggestions πŸ™‚
