Weekly Obsessions

Weekly Obsession II

Happy Fri-yay! It has been a crazy week and I definitely learned to not be hard on myself about my typical routine. Work was back to normal hours yesterday which was good but I’m ready for the weekend! Fingers crossed the work day flies by for us all. Have a wonderful day πŸ™‚

Dinner With Coworkers

As I have previously mentioned, my boss and the other packaging engineer on the team were in New Jersey this week. On Wednesday night after some loooong work days, the three of us went out to dinner with someone else we work with. Even though I wish I wasn’t having such a bad week at work, having all of us there to blow off some steam was great. Plus getting to see my boss outside of work since I don’t see him much was a bonus. We went to Triumph Brewing Company in Princeton and spent at least 3 hours all talking and hanging out. Going out with coworkers and a beer or two is a great way to get to know each other better which I thought was exactly what the four of us needed.

Vintage Seltzer

I don’t drink pop really. Yes I call soft drinks pop, it’s a Midwest thing. Very randomly I’ll drink it but I just don’t really like it anymore! Usually I just drink plain old water. That gets boring after a while so I’ll switch it up to seltzer. It’s safe to say Alex and I are both obsessed with Vintage! No seriously obsessed, we bought 48 bottles one day. It’s the best seltzer that we have tried (and we’ve tried a lot!). There’s no syrupy flavor to it which is the best part. Lately I’ve been sipping on raspberry lime but I love mandarin orange, pomegranate and lemon lime as well.

Help Without Asking

With the long work hours (sorry to continuously bring it up…) I did next to nothing throughout the week in terms of chores. Wednesday night, Alex managed to check our mail (we’re horrible at doing that), vacuum the apartment, make lunches, prep coffee and tea for the morning, and emptied all the garbage cans without me asking. He also tidied up all the tax documents that I’ve been getting in the mail so I can easily send them to my Dad. He is the best my friends ❀

Maybelline Master Conceal Concealer

Maybelline Concealer

If I had to pick one makeup item to only use I would either pick concealer or mascara but I think I would pick this product! This concealer from Maybelline is amazing. It covers up so much with just the tiny amount. The tube lasts forever too and it’s super portable if you like keeping something with you for touch ups although I find that it lasts all day on my skin. The formula is really lightweight as well so I don’t even feel it on my skin. Plus it’s drugstore so you can’t beat the price.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Technically this isn’t something I ate this week but I’m obsessed with buffalo chicken and who doesn’t love a good dip? Since the Super Bowl is this weekend, I wanted to share a dish I think you would all love. If you know me then you know I love hot sauce and buffalo chicken. About two months ago I made this buffalo chicken dip and I might make it again for the game Sunday. I thought I’d share it in case you are stuck on what to make for your viewing.

Question of the day: What’s one thing you’ve been obsessing over this week?

  1. LOVE that water!! ALSO, spent 8 years in Oklahoma growing up and I came to Delaware saying ‘pop’ and people were like ‘huh?’. One thing I’m obsessing over is the super bowl! can’t wait to watch the Eagles play!

    1. My boyfriend always makes fun of me!! His family heard me say it and they all looked at me like I had 7 heads lol. Same! I’m not a huge football fan but I live pretty close to Philly so let’s go Eagles!

    1. I have no idea the difference between sparkling water and seltzer to be honest! I’ve heard it has to do with the carbonation? If that’s true though I don’t know.

Thanks Erinn! Enjoy your weekend πŸ™‚

  2. We love mixing up our regular water intake with seltzer water too! I’ve tried a bunch of different flavors but so far my favorite is the Lime La Croix sparkling water! They’re not overly flavorful but they’re still refreshing! I have a few other favorites from Target too with simple igredients but I can’t for the life of me remember their brand name…Strawberry Kiwi is usually my favorite one!

YAY for blowing off steam after work! That’s SO needed sometimes and can make a world of difference!! So glad you got to do that! I hope your work week next week is 10x better for you!!

    Happy Fri-YAY!! (Finally!!!) Enjoy!!!!

    1. Unpopular opinion but I’m not a huge La Croix fan! I’ve found that they lose the bubbles really quickly. Is it the can that’s a really pretty light blue color? If so I’ve heard good things about it so I’ll have to find the strawberry kiwi to try it out!

It really is needed some times! Thanks Chelsea, I having a feeling it will be much better.

      Enjoy your Friday!!

  3. I haven’t tried that water yet! Do you like it more than Lacroix?
Sounds like you have a good man on your hands!

  4. I also call it pop and am in love with sparkling water. This week, I am obsessed with the Skinnytaste cookbook! Oh my goodness, everything in there is so good!

  5. I love sparkling water. My ex and I had a soda stream so we made our own sparkling water with essential oil fusions. Golly, I was a snob πŸ˜‰

Sometimes, I buy the lime flavored sparkling water from Trader Joe’s. When my bf sees this, he calls me Gladys or Ethel and speaks in an “old lady voice,” to make fun of me for drinking “seltzer” πŸ™‚

Good for you for blowing off steam; you have had quite the week. I hope your weekend is dreamy.

    1. I’ve always considering buying a soda stream but feel like the flavors would cost a decent amount so I haven’t pulled the trigger.

I didn’t even know Trader Joe’s sold seltzer! Now I’ll have to go to buy some to try πŸ˜‰

Thank you! Have a wonderful weekend as well!

  6. Hay Maureen πŸ™‚ really hope you enjoy your weekend after this hectic week for you’ve had.

Maybelline concealers are THE BEST. Probably one makeup item I cannot live without. I use the Superstay better skin concealer every single day and don’t plan to switch it up (for now). Two things I’ve been obsessed over this new week has been my car and aviator sunglasses.

    1. Hi Nathaly!! Thank you so much for that, so sweet πŸ™‚

I haven’t tried that concealer from Mayeblline but I’ve heard good things. Maybe I’ll pick it up next time I run out. I love aviators! They are such a classic shape in my opinion.

      Have a wonderful weekend πŸ™‚

  8. I’ve never seen that seltzer but I am a huge fan of seltzer so if I see it I’ll def be purchasing. I like the La Croix berry and lime flavors most! So sweet of Alex to get all that done – and ugh taxes!!!!!!!! Lately I’ve been obsessed with clove and cinnamon essential oils!

    1. Definitely try it out if you can find it! Unpopular opinion but I don’t like La Croix and I feel like everyone does. It really was super sweet of him. I’m a lucky girl with that guy 😊
Taxes are the WORST! But if my return can go into my bank account now then I’ll too complaining haha. I need to try out essential oils!
