Sunday In Pictures, Weekend

Sunday In Pictures Vol. 17

Happy Monday! Who watched the game last night? The game was fantastic and had us stressed (we aren’t even huge football fans!) but we’re happy with the outcome. This is probably an unpopular opinion but I wasn’t wowed by the halftime show. The commercials were eh as well. Now I’m just waiting for the tired feeling to set in from such a late night. I feel like the Super Bowl always makes me so tired the next day. Not going to lie, it could definitely be because I ate pretty unhealthy but whatever. One night a year is worth it! Have a wonderful day πŸ™‚

Alex was studying for an exam so I read more ofΒ The City Baker’s Guide to Country LivingΒ on the couch while I drank my tea.

I’m not even doing my taxes this year (thanks Dad!) and this is how I feel just from collecting all of my documents together. Graduating college and having 3 jobs is not joke when it comes to taxes!

Finished my book. Super cute and a great easy, light read!

Game was too stressful so had to bring in a little self care. Does anyone else love pore strips?

Celebratory dessert. Go Eagles!

Question of the day: What’s a highlight from your weekend? And if you watched the game, what was your favorite commercial?

  1. You guys are so cute with your fire for the game. The game was a GREAT game to watch, and kudos for the Eagles for playing so well. I agree with feeling underwhelmed about commercials and halftime show. Oh well!

    1. Thank you! It was one of the better Super Bowls in a while which I was happy to see! Definitely a nail biter. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one underwhelmed by both! We’ll just have to wait until next year I guess.

  2. You are so lucky your dad is doing your taxes! I am dreading mine (well I do my husband’s too) so much!
I loved the doritos commercial with Peter Dinklage πŸ˜‰

    1. I think it’ll be the last year he does them unfortunately! He was going to let me do them but between have 3 jobs (one in school and two after), graduating college and moving it was just easiest for him to do them.
That was a good commercial!! One of my favorites for sure πŸ™‚

  3. I thought the Amazon Alexa commercial was funny (even though I think they could’ve had WAY BETTER personalities … but the Cardi B country music part absolutely killed me haha) But definitely a late night & feeling it today at work!

  4. I didn’t watch the game, since it was on in the middle of the night here, but I’m glad to know I didn’t miss much. My highlight from the weekend was going to a spa on Saturday!

  5. Hey Maureen! looks like you had a very good Sunday!

The highlight of my weekend is that I got so many things done around the house. And I baked too. Love baking.

We’re also very happy with the outcome of the game. And our favorite commercials were the Tide ads and the one from NFL itself. So funny!!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

    1. Hey girl!

I love when I get lots of stuff done around the house. It’s the best feeling. I saw you made cinnamon rolls so jealous! They look amazing.

The ending NFL one was great. Glad we both ended up on the winning side.

What some reason, my comments don’t seem to be posting to your blog. But what I wanted to say is that something I’ve read is to keep hard days hard and easy days easy. So if you have a speed workout then you train legs that day and if it’s a recovery/easy day then you should focus on arms/abs. This way your legs get some rest in between everything πŸ™‚

Thank you! I hope your Monday is great so far!

      1. Hey girl! I don’t know why they’re not appearing on my blog. I’ll have to check into that:) And the cinnamon rolls were delicious, I’ll be sharing the link of the recipe later on this week!

    1. I’m dreading when I have to do taxes on my own, ugh! I’m hoping that this year won’t have any major changes so it should be fairly easy for me. It’s hard being an adult!!

Don’t get me wrong, there were some good commercials but overall I wasn’t that impressed.

  6. Turbo Tax to the rescue πŸ™‚ I was scared the first time I did my taxes independently. But, the website does a decent job walking you down the path. I was very impressed with the super-bowl: in particular the amount of jumping that the football players did!

    1. I’ll definitely be using Turbo Tax next year when I file them myself! My Dad uses them so I’m sure I’ll call with lots of questions for him lol. It was just easier for him to file for me again since there were a lot of changes that happened to me.
Right?! The level of play was awesome and made for an exciting game!

      1. Oh I’ll add it to my TBR right now as I love books that feature my hobbies:)
Yup sports and yummy unhealthy food just go together and it’s not everyday. It’s part of why we run, right???😜

They totally do! Don’t get me wrong, I love healthy foods but I want to enjoy life and eat the unhealthy stuff for big games. And I paid for it since i got heartburn and had to have some Tums lol. It’s definitely part of the reason we run πŸ™‚

      3. I know! It is so difficult. I’m thinking I’ll just start requesting those on my TBR. You seem to do a great job of picking interesting books!

  7. I know what you mean about taxes! Like why are they so dreadful?! I always have someone prepare mine, but even then it somehow feels stressful?! Oh well, part of life I guess!

Your breakfast looks so good! How is that book?! It sounds like one I’d love!

    1. Taxes really are the worst! I just had to send the documents to my Dad in PDF form and I still thought I was missing something or messing it up. Although I won’t complain when my return comes through.

I think you would like it!! I personally enjoyed the story.
