Tired Legs

Hello and happy Tuesday! How was your Monday? I don’t know about you but my building had some pretty happy people in it after the Eagles win. One guy went to the store at 5 am to buy a shirt and hat. That is dedication! I don’t think I could do that but to each their own. Have a great day 🙂

Surprisingly I didn’t wake up too late considering I went to bed at midnight. But a text from Alex saying “I’m shocked we got out of bed and moving” just goes to show that we were both slow moving yesterday. We still had bagels from Sunday morning (thank you buy 6 get 2 free coupon) so breakfast was easy. I had an Asiago cheese bagel with cream cheese before heading out the door.

I started my new book at work. The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell was something I stumbled upon at the library. It’s set in the 1920s and follows a girl, Rose, who is the typist at a New York City police precinct. A new typist, Odalie, comes in and sucks Rose into her world. It sounds like a really intriguing book and I’m curious to see how it ends since the reviews are mixed about it.

After work, I got in a tough run. It was a lactate threshold that pushed me. I can’t complain with the junk I ate on Sunday night though. When I got back, I completed some bodyweight exercises. Something tells me, my legs will be sore since every inch of my leg was extremely tired. Hi it’s Maureen check in on Tuesday before this goes live and I can say that yes I have some soreness in my legs and maybe wearing heels to work wasn’t my best decision. I refueled with a nice and juicy orange. Overall, I got in 7 miles including the warm up and cool down at a 9:03 pace.

While the rice cooked for dinner, I prepped lunches and coffee. Then I had extra time so I organized the Tupperware we have. Please tell me we are not the only people who have containers that somehow get out of control… Once that was all done, everything was ready for dinner. Burrito bowls for Mexican Monday  and they hit the spot. I had brown rice, refried beans, southwest chicken, lettuce, cheese, salsa, avocado and a tiny dollop of sour cream. It was so filling and delicious!

When that was done, we got comfy on the couch and watched some Netflix. We finished the episode of Dirty Money that we started over the weekend. If you like short documentaries then I really recommend this show! We watched an episode about a pharmaceutical company and man did it really open my eyes to things. Naturally I dozed off on the couch and when I woke up, I brushed my teeth before crawling into bed.

Question of the day: Is Mexican Monday a thing?

  1. Hey Maureen!!

I always think I should include a burrito bowl into our weekly dinner meal plans but I always forget. Yours looks delicious.

I also have a problems with tupperware getting out of control lol. I think is just normal.

Thank you so much for the running advice you gave me yesterday. I would certainly take that into consideration this week so that I have a happy long run 🙂

About Mexican Monday, I’ve never heard of it. BUT you can make it your thing;). Our thing is “Italian Fridays.” We always have pizza, pasta, or any kind of Italian food on Friday nights.

    1. Hey!!

You should definitely had burrito bowls. Super easy and you can change up the toppings and meat you include with it.

I’m sure my organized tupperware will be out of control again by the end of the week lol. At least I tried 🙂

Aw I’m glad!! I’m trying to incorporate that into my training to so I hope it helps you 🙂

Italian Friday sounds like a great idea. Who doesn’t love pizza to start off the weekend!

    1. That could be too! I think my mileage is increasing just a bit but it could also be from taking off most of last week. Who knows, I’ll just have to be better about stretching and foam rolling!

It’s definitely a nice treat to have bagels. I don’t typically buy them so I love when we get a bunch.

  2. I love asiago cheese bagels! Blueberry used to be my favorite but in the past few years I’m all about asiago! I haven’t had one in a while but this is a good reminder to get one sometime soon!

    1. That’s so smart! I wish I could do that but small kitchen problems lol. If your boys wouldn’t like the bowls then they can just make tacos or have everything separate! It’s so customizable which is what I love about them.

      1. I got smart last time and used a shoe box to hold the lids standing on their ends- took up less room and they weren’t falling everywhere

      2. That’s smart! I’ll have to keep that in mind. Currently we have it all on the top shelf in a cabinet so we can’t do that. I love that idea though so I’ll definitely take it when we move into a bigger place 🙂

      3. I only have a small drawer for Tupperware as my condo kitchen is tiny. I had the box for the lids and then I stacked the containers and laid them on their side.

      4. Oh ya I know that problem we’ll. Mine is just from all over and I ended up getting rid of some simply because it didn’t fit nicely🤣

      5. Yup! Every doggy bag and even some products come in containers. It’s like the reverse of socks- they multiply rather than disappear!

  3. I hate my container drawer. It’s been on my to-do list forever to organize it! Maybe I’ll do that this weekend! Your burrito bowl looks delicious.
