Weekly Obsessions

Weekly Obsessions III

Woohoo it’s Friday! Who is excited for the weekend?! I’m working from home today and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited. I may even get my run done during lunch but we shall see. I hope you all have a wonderful day πŸ™‚

Clarisonic Mia 2

I got my Clarisonic for Christmas 2015. It was a Christmas present that I knew was coming since I was the one that bought it ha! In my defense, my friend works for L’Oreal (did you know they own about 124685 different cosmetic brands?) so it was much cheaper to buy it through her at the company store and then have my parents pay me back. Anyways, I stopped using it back around Christmas since the battery died and I forgot to charge it. Well I plugged it in this week and it’s been great! The first night I used it, the dry skin on my face was less noticeable and it felt like my moisturizer was able to sink into my skin more easily.

This might seem like a weird thing to be obsessed with but seriously it’s been amazing. I made a big sausage and potato dish on Saturday night knowing there would be leftovers for multiple meals. Plus we had a ton of leftover chicken from burrito bowls on Monday so I haven’t had to cook since then. Sometimes you need a week with minimal cooking!

The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell

This book was really intriguing from the start. I saw some mixed reviews about the end so I was dying to see what the end was. This book sucked me in from the start. It was Suzanne Rindell’s first novel and I have to say it was a hit! The ending is definitely something I can see people having different opinions on. Personally, I’m still not sure what happened but in a good way! If you read this book, we will have to discuss to compare our thoughts.

The synopsis from Barnes & Noble’s website “Confessions are Rose Baker’s job. A typist for the New York City Police Department, she sits in judgment like a high priestess. Criminals come before her to admit their transgressions, and, with a few strokes of the keys before her, she seals their fate. But while she may hear about shootings, knifings, and crimes of passion, as soon as she leaves the room, she reverts to a dignified and proper lady. Until Odalie joins the typing pool. As Rose quickly falls under the stylish, coquettish Odalie’s spell, she is lured into a sparkling underworld of speakeasies and jazz. And what starts as simple fascination turns into an obsession from which she may never recover”

I bought this bag to make trail mix…except I ended up digging into before then. Cashews are my weakness currently. I grab a few when I want a little snack before or after dinner but don’t want to make a mess but want something healthy. If I’m going to have an actual snack with these, I will take an actual portion. I prefer the unsalted variety since I think salted nuts are waaaaay to salty. Anyone else think they should make a lightly salted version of roasted nuts?!

Questino of the day: What’s one thing you’re obsessing with this week?

  1. I am obsessed with candy this week, Moreso than usual even. Last night I chased a Reese’s peanut butter cup with a Kit Kat, with some whoppers and finally a couple of those Hershey’s dark chocolate minis. I justified my binge because they were all ‘fun size’ . . .

Love making things up with leftovers. Yours looks tasty!

I read somewhere that a handful of cashews a day helps with depression, so I’ve been doing it ever since. Plus I love them, so bonus round there.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. I LOVE Reese’s!! I don’t buy them because I know I’ll eat all of them lol. Plus dark chocolate is the bomb and it’s good for you so you basically helped yourself with those mini’s πŸ˜‰

I had no idea about that. That’s really interesting though! I’m curious if it’s true but nuts are healthy so why not have a handful every day.

Thank you! Have a wonderful day πŸ™‚

      1. I don’t know if you have a Sheetz convenience store in your neck of the woods but . . .
If you do, they have this new creation called a Reese’s Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate.

        Oh . .
        Me . .

    1. Same. I read all the time so I’m always on the lookout for more recommendations. If you read it let me know your thoughts! Easter candy is out already?! That’s crazy to me since it’s not even Valentine’s Day!

  2. Oh I hope you got your run in! I do loved my morning run in daylight today!!
That sausage and potato dish was amazing and it saved me from having to cook this week too:)
A lightly salted nuts would’ve perfect!!!

      1. That’s awesome you got a lunch run in. I follow a blogger who does that regularly and I’m jealous! Must make for a nice break!
I’ve been known to eat salted nuts too:)

      2. It was the best! Definitely not something I’ll do again since I will probably not work from home again. But if I ever do then I’ll try to run at lunch again. It’ll be back to post work runs Monday!
Salted nuts make me thirsty though so I try not to eat them a ton.

      3. Yup I’m trying to enjoy my morning runs while I can on my four day weekend, but know I’ll be back for reality on Tuesday.
Ya salted nuts are a party thing for me

      4. I’m going to test out a morning run this week and see how late I can possibly go and if it’s starting to get light by then? 🀞🏻

  3. I have always wanted to try a Clarisonic! I am glad to hear you like yours and think it’s worth the investment!

Mmm, cashews are so good! You know what other nuts I love? Brazil nuts! Have you ever had them? I highly recommend.

Also, the book you’re reading (well, read by the time you get this comment since you read so fast!) sounds super good. I am going to look it up on Amazon right now!

    1. I would definitely wait until you find either a gift set or get a coupon since Clarisonics are a little expensive. Or ask for it as a gift πŸ™‚

I have heard of them but I’m not sure if I’m ever eaten them. If I stumble across some I’ll have to try them out.

I had finished that book when this post went up! I enjoyed it so if you read it then let me know your thoughts.
