Oldies But Goodies

Happy Saturday! What’s on your agenda for today? I have an 8 mile run, haircut and late Valentine’s Day celebration on the agenda. It’ll be a full day but a fun one and I can’t wait for it. I hope you have a great day 🙂

Friday started out with an oldie but a goodie. For breakfast I opted for an old favorite and had toast and scrambled eggs. This was in full force this week and I am not complaining one bit. I love the creaminess of the cream cheese on the toast.

At work, I started a new book. Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng follows the story of a family after the death of their middle child. The narrator is an outside which I like. I’m really interested to see how the child’s death affects the family’s dynamic. So far so good in my opinion!

It was kind of raining when I left work which was annoying but it was still warm enough for shorts so I can’t complain. It ended up not raining on my 3 mile easy run but wasn’t raining so that’s a win. This past week, I’ve realized I’ve been pretty hungry on my easy run days. Instead of eating everything I own, I opted for a smoothie last night. After not having one in months, it was amazing! I blended frozen strawberries, blueberries and bananas with chia seeds, peanut butter, water and a tiny splash of milk. It filled me up and hit the spot.

While I enjoyed the smoothie, I meal planned for next week. I have a new recipe I’m trying out that I can’t wait for. Plus it’ll give leftovers so I always appreciate a recipe like that. Both Alex and I started getting hungry so we heated up leftover meat and black beans for tacos. I swear there was more than just lettuce on the tortilla ha.

Once dinner was all cleaned up, Alex and I cuddled up on the couch to watch an episode of The Crown. We have been slacking with this show! There’s only 10 episodes in the season and we have 3 left to watch. It’s just so good that a part of me doesn’t want it to end though. When the episode ended I foam rolled, read a bit and headed to bed.

Question of the day: What did you have for dinner last night?

  1. Ahh sounds like a perfect day planned!!!! I’ll be working, so enjoy the weekend for me Have you ever tried greek yogurt on toast?! It’s like cream cheese, and I usually sprinkle some stevia on top with craisins/chia seeds/oats … I bet you’d like it if you like yogurt!! Every time I see your egg pics they make me CRAVE them! I need to watch The Crown ASAP. Everyone says it’s really good! Love your posts always, girl!

    1. Thanks girl! I can’t wait for the haircut so I don’t need to style it for my date lol. It’s the little things! Do you use plain Greek yogurt for that? I tend to buy flavored ones so it’s already flavored when I eat it at work. Watch The Crown!! I think you would really like it. Plus the set is beautiful! Have a wonderful day at work love ❤

P.S I can't comment on your post because WordPress hates me ha. But your Valentine's Day dress looked amazing on you!

      1. I do! Plain fage usually or Chobani. Sometimes I’ll used toasted vanilla coconut though from dannon. Can’t wait to watch the crown! Ahhh I think the comment went through 🤗 you were in my spam but I unmarked it so hopefully it gets the hint now! ❤️

  2. Oh I can’t wait to hear about your new recipes!
I find I’m starving on Sundays! I don’t know if it’s because I run first thing or the accumulation of all my runs for the week?

    1. I found the recipe on another blog so I can’t wait to try it out. Creamy chicken chili and it looks so good!
Maybe it’s your body just telling you to eat a little extra to fuel all of your workouts for the week! I hope you have a great day girl 🙂

    1. It was a really good Saturday Chelsea 😊 I’m a happy girl right now haha. I love days with no plans though!

Oh I’ve had dinners like that before too. It just tells me the first thing I have to do the next day is head to the grocery store.

Hope your day has been fantastic!
