Hi everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. I’m checking in after a relaxing night in with Alex last night. Poor guy wasn’t feeling too good so he ended up moving a late meeting. I won’t complain though since I got him to myself al night hehe. I hope you have a great day 🙂
We woke up and the weather was once again amazing! It was close to 55 at 5 am. Somehow Alex and I woke up and managed to get ready with enough time to have a treat of a breakfast during the week. We enjoyed some bacon and eggs. Warm weather in February and bacon and eggs on a Wednesday? Heck yes!
At work, I started Another Brooklyn by Jacqueline Woodson. The writing style is really unique and it honestly took me some getting used to. It’s almost as though it’s written in a mix between poems and normal paragraphs. Once I got used to it, it was really easy to read. Due to the writing style, it was incredibly quick to read! I read 129 of 170 pages in my lunch break.
When I got off of work, I made a quick pit stop to pick soup up from the store for Alex then met him at home. I prepped out lunches for the next day then made some more oatmeal muffins. I’ve found that these fill me up more than toast does but I’ve been too busy to make another batch. This is the recipe I loosely followed. I omit bananas, add chia seeds, frozen blueberries and frozen strawberries.
For dinner, I made another quesadilla to use up leftover black beans that we in the fridge. I also put a bowl of Caesar salad together and used half of the avocado into it. The other half topped my quesadilla. Such an easy and delicious dinner!
We got everything from dinner cleaned up and then settled in on the couch to watch a movie. We originally planned on watching the first Guardians of the Galaxy but it wasn’t anywhere to be found to stream. Netflix had the second film so we turned that on instead. I hadn’t seen the first one and had no problems picking up on anything in the movie. There were some really funny lines when you least expect it.
Since I’m stubborn, I had to finish the book once the movie was over since I was so close to being done. I actually read when we paused the movie to use the bathroom and get drinks so I had maybe 30 pages left at that point. Luckily the pages are short so I finished it rather quickly. Overall I really enjoyed the story. It is about how your friendships change as you grow during your teenage years. It’s an easy read for sure but not mindless in anyway due to the writing style. Once I finished reading, I closed the book and headed off to bed.
Question of the day: What’s the last movie you watched?
