Happy Sunday! How’s the weather by you this weekend? It’s been raining on and off for 4 days here. Not exactly the best weekend weather. I hope the sun is shining by you and that you have a great day 🙂
I fully expected to have to run 10 miles in the rain so I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up to no rain yesterday. 10 easy miles to start the weekend. During my run, I was thinking about the progress I’ve made in 8ish months since I started running. Again, this time last year I wasn’t working out at all. Then I started running over the summer and I remember seeing 4 miles as a long run one weekend and now I run 10 miles like it’s nothing. Progress is amazing my friends!
Maybe this is just me but when I get home from a long run I am not hungry. When I was meeting girls for a pedicure I few weeks ago, I almost threw up because I tried eating right away (real talk my friends!). Since I know this about my body, I never eat until I’m actually hungry post run so I’ll shower and get ready for my day before making breakfast. To refuel, I had an orange and a scrambled egg. Thank goodness citrus is in season right now because I can’t get enough of it.
After eating, I headed out to run a bunch of errands. I stopped at Macy’s to return something and proceeded to buy a new shirt, a Target run and then the library. Alex was still feeling a little under the weather and requested mac & cheese from Panera. It’s right by the library so I stopped in to grab takeout. I opted for broccoli cheddar soup which is definitely not good for you but it’s too tasty to pass up. Is it just me or did the servings at Panera get smaller yet their prices went up? I feel like every time I go in the sizes are smaller. Maybe it’s just me though!
Since it was rainy and gross, I settled in on the couch after eating to read. I’m still making my way through Before the Fall, It’s a good one! Until a certain point, I thought I knew why the plane crashed and then something happened in the book and now I think I’m completely wrong. Reading for hours made me hungry again so I snacked on some carrots and hummus while I read more.
Eventually it was time for dinner which meant pizza! I was at the grocery store a few weeks ago and pizza crust was on sale so I stocked up on a couple and threw them in the freezer. I pulled one out for an easy and delicious meal. We opted for half cheese and half pepperoni. If I said it hit the spot, it would be an understatement.
The rest of the night was spent cuddled up on the couch watching National Treasure. This movie was one my family saw in 2004 on Christmas Eve for our tradition. It’s still such a good movie. I loved it then and I love it now. Just far fetched that you know it’s not true but not so out there that you couldn’t not see it happening either.
Question of the day: What’s the weather by you like?
