Sunday In Pictures Vol. 20

Hello and happy Monday! How was your weekend? Aside from constant rain, mine was pretty good. It looks like we have a few days of no rain in the forecast so I’m pretty excited about that. Have a great day 🙂

Bagels and some semi-burnt bacon for breakfast. I may or may not have put too long of a timer on for the oven…

Two months later and all of our Christmas decorations are put away. Now we’re ready for spring and Easter! The garland was from Target in the dollar spot and was $3 so go get it because it’s super cute.

Finished Before the Fall by Noah Hawley. I really enjoyed the book and it’s worth a read. I liked that I had an initial thought on what I thought caused the plane crash and even though I was wrong, I could see a few different scenarios play out. Until the end, I didn’t know exactly what happened.

A tortilla pizza (whole wheat tortilla, tiny bit of olive oil, mozzarella cheese, basil and red pepper flakes in a 350 degree oven until cheese melts) plus a side Caesar salad for lunch.

I started The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter. Within the first 10 pages I got hooked!! I can’t wait to see what happens in the novel.

A mid-afternoon snack of an orange.

Sundays are for foam rolling.

Dinner was shredded chicken (cooked on low in the crockpot with some minced garlic and pesto), tortellini, broccoli and pesto plus some parmesan cheese on top. So good!

I ended the night with a whiskey sour and we watched the new Chris Rock special on Netflix. The first 12ish minutes had some cheap jokes on current events (in my opinion) but the rest of it was pretty good. Alex and I both enjoyed it!

Question of the day: What’s one highlight from your weekend?

  1. I can’t wait to read what you think of The Good Daughter!! That one was intense…in a good way. I did the audiobook thing but I’m sure it would be just as good to actually read!

  2. I feel like all I do is foam roll right now. I definitely got some quality time in with my roller yesterday, too. And the hi-light of my weekend was probably scoring an invite to my cousin’s 5th birthday party:) So many cupcakes, so much costume jewelry, and so many tutus. It was so fun!

  3. Bagels and creme cheese are one of my favorite Sunday breakfast yum!

My highlight from this weekend was not running. I’m still battling a stubborn cold and I’m less than a month away from my next race:(. The good of not running this weekend is that I had so much more time to do more things. The bad is that I missed it like crazy.

    1. I get how you feel. Due to negative temperatures and a big snowstorm, I had to skip 4 days of running right when the new year started. It sucks! Hopefully this little break means your legs will feel extremely refreshed and ready to finish training strong Nathaly!

  4. I’m such a sucker for a good pasta dish! That looks delicious!! So does that toritlla pizza! I’ve never thought of making one that way but that’s such a good idea!! YUM!

I totally agree with you on the Chris Rock show on Netflix. We started it the other day but didn’t make it very far because the start was a little ….blah. I’m ready for these guys to move on and talk about something else! HA! He is usually pretty funny though and we love all of the standup that come on Netflix!

    Have a great Monday Maureen!!

  5. Thanks for the idea of the tortilla pizza, I’ll have to make that as I have some pesto to use up:) Ugh foam rolling and I have a love-hate relationship!
