Hello friends! How are you doing today? I am feeling good. I kicked off the week with a killer workout. Does anyone else feel like a good Monday workout sets the tone for their week? I hope it’s not just me! Have a great day π
For whatever reason, I woke up so many times starting at about 4 in the morning. It was the weirdest thing because I would go to sleep and wake up a short while later. Luckily it didn’t prevent me from getting up and ready for the day. Scrambled eggs and an oatmeal muffin to start the day.
At work, I read more ofΒ The Good Daughter. I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about hiding in a conference room after lunch to read more. The book is so good! I’m dying to know what happens in it but don’t want it to end. It’s quite the dilemma.

After work, I threw on a long sleeve and shorts then headed out the door. Mondays are always hard workouts for me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve grown to love the speed workouts that come on Mondays. I find that it helps me to set the tone for the week. Yesterday’s run was a 2 x 2 mile lactate threshold workout. With the warm up, recovery and cool down, I got in 7 miles for the day. My legs were dead by the end but it didn’t stop me from doing a circuit after to really work the muscles.
For dinner, I chopped up some chicken breasts while brown rice cooked. Once the chicken was going in the pan, I cut up broccoli, brussel sprouts and a red pepper. I’m not sure if this is the proper way to make stir fry but I always remove the meat so it doesn’t burn while the veggies cook. Once those are tender, the chicken went back in and I put some General Tso’s sauce on it all. Such an easy and delicious dinner! We haven’t had stir fry in so long so I was happy that Alex suggested it when we were meal planning.
Once everything was cleaned up from dinner and the leftovers were put away, I got on the couch to type up this post. Alex was finishing up some stuff for work. We planned on watching an episode of The Crown but work took a little longer than he thought. That meant more time to read for me though so I didn’t complain. Once work was finished, we watched two episodes of The Office before heading to bed.
Question of the day: Do you start the week off with a hard workout as well?

sounds like you had a great Monday. the dinner looked good. I’m not sure there is a right or wrong way to make stir fry… whatever works is what I say. Hope your Tuesday is fantastic

It was a good Monday in my opinion! I feel like whenever I see a stir fry on a cooking show they keep the meat in so I always think I’m making it wrong haha. Have a great day!

I love starting Mondays with a tough workout. I agree, it totally sets the tone for the week…even though I’m usually too sore for a Tuesday workout!!

I totally get what you mean! It’s hard to get a workout in if you’re sore from a tough one.

Woah good job on that workout!!! A tough run and then a circuit too:). What did you do for your circuit? I try to use the good beginning strategy for my rating each day and for my workouts each week. My Mondayβs have been running days lately, but it comes right after my long run on Sunday so it usually feels tough, so I guess I do start with a tough workout simply because my legs are already tired!

Thank you π I’m loosely following Kayla Itsine’s workout. That makes sense to take it easy after Sunday’s long run! I always have an easy day or rest day after hard workouts to recover.

Me either! It’s hard to motivate myself to do anything after tough workouts. I just want to relax.
