I’m Ready For The Snow To End

Happy Thursday! I’m checking in with a solid 8 inches of snow on the ground outside from the storm yesterday. I don’t know what it has been but this week has dragged for me. Luckily it’s almost Friday and the weekend. I’m hoping the day passes quickly though so I can get out and run in the fresh air. Have a great day πŸ™‚

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I woke up in the morning with the snow. It looked like nothing else happened since the hail which was good but that meant some slippery sidewalks in the morning when I left the apartment. It was nice and cold out so I was glad to have had a nice breakfast in my belly before heading out.

At work, I started a new book. B.A. Paris’sΒ Behind Closed DoorsΒ is the story of Jack and Grace. They are newlyweds who appear to have the perfect marriage yet there are a few peculiar things that stand out to others. Grace never answers the phone and they share the same email. I’m really intrigued to where the story will go because I’m really enjoying it so far.

Of course the storm started to pick up when I left work. I swear that always happens without fail. Luckily there were not a ton of people out (because I’m convinced every other company was closed…) but the drive home was easy. Alex stayed home instead of going into the city so we got to hang out and watch the snow fall. We actually looked at some puppies online because what’s more fun than being inside on the couch with a fire during a snowstorm and looking at cute puppies?

Broccoli, Sausage Cavatelli

For dinner, I was extremely fancy and heated up leftover pasta. Erinn asked me for the recipe in the comments yesterday so I thought I would share it with you all now. It’s from All Recipes and I keep it the same for the most part. The only changes I make are decrease the olive oil to 1/3 cup of olive oil and increase the red pepper flakes since I love spice. Also my favorite bulk hot Italian sausage is from Target. It’s better than what I bought at a butcher once so just thought I’d throw that out there.

We cuddled up in front of the fire to watch another episode of Billions. Once the episode was over we both grabbed our books and read on the couch before heading to bed.

Question of the day: Did it snow by you yesterday?

    1. Definitely try this one out. So dang delicious Chelsea!

Girl I’m praying for warm weather soon! The snow started melting and the grass is peaking through in certain areas. I’m taking it as a good sign!

  2. hope your day today bring sunshine and it starts to feel more like spring, even if the ground is white. Glad you got home before the major snow and slick took over the roads. sitting and looking at puppies on-line is cute and fun. are you thinking about getting a dog? dogs are the best

    1. The sun is shining right now so even if the snow is on the ground I won’t complain too much. We’re toying with the idea but our schedules are so busy with work that who knows. It was fun to window shop!

  3. Oh sorry to hear about all the snow! I can’t wait to hear what you think of that book as that’s one we looked at for book club this year!

  4. I would get in way too much trouble looking at puppies! Logan won’t even let me go to the animal shelter because he knows I’ll come home with one. Kimber would love a friend πŸ˜‰
We got about 5 inches of snow yesterday, the most all year! Haha, but it’s mostly melted now!

  5. No snow here in Texas!!! Be careful with puppy hunting- you may end up with one. That’s what happened to us πŸ˜›

The book looks really good- I may see if our library has it

  6. Oh man, eight inches?! I thought we had it bad in Pittsburgh with six inches. Thankfully it’s starting to melt, and hopefully it is for you as well!

Yay for looking at puppies and starting a new book! Please keep us updated on how you like the plot and characters!
