Hi friends! How is your weekend so far? I’m feeling pretty refreshed if I do say so myself. Yesterday was fairly grey and gross but the sun is shining right now and I can’t complain at all about that. I have a few fun things on the agenda and some cleaning today but I think it’ll be a good day. Have a great day 🙂
Saturday started out a little different than normal. I decided to take an extra rest day to make sure everything is fine with my knee. Maybe I could have run and been fine but I would rather take the weekend off and start fresh on Monday. Honestly I’m just being cautious because of the half next weekend. When I woke up, I took Bailey out and fed her before we played a little. I showered and ate breakfast. I decided to go back to the tried and true with scrambled eggs and an oatmeal muffin.
My agenda for Saturday called for the grocery store and errands at the mall. The grocery store was surprisingly empty compared to what it normally is like on Saturday mornings which was a pleasant surprise. When I got home, Alex and I hung out a bit before putting Bailey in her cage so we could head to the mall and a few other errands that needed to get done. While out, we got hungry and decided to stop at Qdoba since it was there. I got nachos and they were delicious! I topped them with chicken, black beans, salsa verde and lettuce.
When we got home, we had a short little walk with Bailey before I settled in on the couch to read while Alex watched the Masters. I was finally able to really dictate time to finish Most Wanted by Lisa Scottoline. It was a good read and for a while I wasn’t sure if I thought the person was guilty or not. Most Wanted is the story of a couple that uses a sperm donor to get pregnant and then they find someone who looks almost exactly like him on the news being arrested as a serial killer. The wife, Christine, sets out to determine if the suspect is actually their donor. I won’t spoil anything but it’s a good book.
While I finished the last few pages, Alex worked on getting burgers ready to grill. I threw some fries in the oven to cook as well. We planned on having roasted broccoli too but it was honestly too late so we didn’t and that’s okay. When the burgers were almost done, I took what felt like every condiment we own out of the fridge for our burger station. It seems like this is a lot of stuff just for 2 people haha. I used everything on mine but mayo.
After dinner, we hung out on the couch for a bit. I played a little with Bailey but she was more interested in sleeping than playing then. Alex and I watched a little of A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix and then he switched over to a Beatles documentary before we headed to bed.
Question of the day: What did you have for dinner last night?
