Hi friends! It’s a foggy Thursday morning here in New Jersey and I’m actually hoping the thunderstorms in the forecast today happen to get rid of all of the pollen in the trees. We shall just wait to see what happens though! Have a great day 🙂
On Wednesday we woke up to the sun shining and it was so nice. Now that the sun is up when we get up, it’s infinitely easier to get up early. Once I was ready for work, it was time to make breakfast. I whipped up scrambled eggs and toast. A few months ago I was on a toast and cream cheese so now I’m back to it but will add chia seeds to for a little something else.
Alex was working from home so I stayed at work during lunch to read. The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes is such a good read! It’s the story told back during 1917 in France during World War I and the present day, well 2006 but 12 year is close enough to be considered present day 😉 When my lunch break ended, I was so sad I had to put away my Nook.
After work, I got home and played with Bailey while waiting for Alex to finish his run. He’s doing the Couch 2 5k app and almost done with it! Once we was home, we leashed up Bailey and went for a short family walk. She’s still not very good at walking on a leash and wants to sniff every blade of grass, stick, peddle, dirt speck imaginable… Walks take forever and don’t get us very far. It’s still some movement though so I’ll consider it a win.
Once we were all back from the walk, I settled on the couch to read even more. I was trying so hard to see what happened because I was so interested in the story. While dinner cooked, I would walk around with my Nook while pulling things out of the cabinets and fridge. Clearly it’s a good read!
For dinner, I roasted some potatoes and broccoli while Alex worked on some burgers for us. It was quite tasty and really hit the spot. We ate and watched an episode of Billions. When the show was over, we cleaned up. I tried so hard to finish my book but I have under 20 or so pages left but decided to head to bed instead of finishing.
Question of the day: Have you read any good books lately?
