Sunday In Pictures Vol. 19

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? It was a good one for me and I’m feeling ready to take on the week! Is your office closed today? Alex’s office in the city is closed for President’s Day so I may have a mid day trip home in store. I haven’t decided yet so we shall see! Before that though, let’s review my Sunday in pictures in typical Monday fashion. Have a great day πŸ™‚

Pancakes and bacon for breakfast because it’s Sunday so start with something yummy.

My reward for laundry and cleaning the bathroom was sitting down to read the spring issue of Magnolia Journal.

Leftover pasta from our Valentine’s Day date for lunch.

Reading my latest book on the couch while Alex studied.

A mid afternoon break for kiwi. These were definitely an impulse buy at the grocery store, at least it’s healthy!

Queso crockpot chicken chili from Pinch of Yum for dinner! I made it on the stove top and it was so good! The only change I made was adding in two small chipotle peppers with adobo since they were in my fridge and I didn’t want them to go bad.

Reading (and falling asleep on the couch πŸ˜‰ in front of the fire to end the night.

Question of the day: What’s a highlight from your weekend?

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? It was a good one for me with a mix of active, relaxing and out spending time with people. In normal Monday fashion, I am sharing my Sunday in pictures today. Have a great day πŸ™‚

I paired some breakfast sausage with leftover waffles from the freezer.

Reading on the couch after breakfast while I enjoyed my tea.

A giant quesadilla with leftovers for lunch.

When you don’t own an apron but don’t want to get your clothes dirty, you put sweats on.

Trying another recipe from this baking book.

Yesterday was Alex’s dad’s birthday so for dinner, he chose steak (and lobster tail which I didn’t eat), mashed potatoes and asparagus.

For dessert, we all dug into my chocolate cake with chocolate whipped cream frosting.

Happy Monday! Who watched the game last night? The game was fantastic and had us stressed (we aren’t even huge football fans!) but we’re happy with the outcome. This is probably an unpopular opinion but I wasn’t wowed by the halftime show. The commercials were eh as well. Now I’m just waiting for the tired feeling to set in from such a late night. I feel like the Super Bowl always makes me so tired the next day. Not going to lie, it could definitely be because I ate pretty unhealthy but whatever. One night a year is worth it! Have a wonderful day πŸ™‚

A whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and an orange on the side to start the day.

Alex was studying for an exam so I read more ofΒ The City Baker’s Guide to Country LivingΒ on the couch while I drank my tea.

I’m not even doing my taxes this year (thanks Dad!) and this is how I feel just from collecting all of my documents together. Graduating college and having 3 jobs is not joke when it comes to taxes!

Leftover pasta and brussel sprouts for lunch.

Post folding laundry snack of red pepper and hummus.

Finished my book. Super cute and a great easy, light read!

His and her cocktails before the game while Alex worked on the fire.

Only the healthiest snacks for the Super Bowl πŸ˜‰

Game was too stressful so had to bring in a little self care. Does anyone else love pore strips?

Celebratory dessert. Go Eagles!

Question of the day: What’s a highlight from your weekend? And if you watched the game, what was your favorite commercial?

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Can you believe that January ends this week? That is crazy to me. Have a great day πŸ™‚

Waffles and bacon to start the day! Plus milk and tea. Am I the only one who has two drinks with breakfast?

FinishedΒ A Hundred SummersΒ by Beatriz Williams and I think you should all read it. I loved it.

Adapted this recipe for oatmeal muffins to have with breakfast. They smelled delicious so we shall see how they taste.

A ham sandwich plus a small handful of chips and salsa that I ate while deciding what to have for lunch.

Chatted with my sister while folding laundry! She’s 2 years younger than me and leaves for study abroad in Australia on Wednesday so it was nice to catch up before she goes.

Started a new book that I’ve heard great things about. I can’t wait to see what happens.

Alex and I started our rainy day movie marathon off by watching Batman Begins! I had never seen it but it’s so good. Also it was filmed in Chicago so I loved seeing familiar sites throughout it.

When the first movie ended, I made chili for dinner! I tried brown rice pasta for the first time and it was pretty good.

We ended the night with Toy Story 2. Fun fact I own all three of them on Blu-Ray/DVD and already told Alex we will be seeing the fourth in theaters in 2019.

Happy Monday! How was your weekend?! I had a pretty good weekend if I do say so myself. I hope you are ready to kill this new week. Have a great day πŸ™‚

Pancakes, bacon, tea and a glass of milk to start the day.

Sprinkle wrapping paper is appropriate for Valentine’s Day right?Β Yes I know it’s still January but someone was getting sick of the box sitting by our table…

Getting some inspiration for a recipe I want to make soon. This book was a gift form my parents and has so many good recipes in it!

Lunch was the rest of my burger from our date on Saturday, carrots, chips and salsa.

One of us was enjoying our book and the other was learning about biology.

A much needed foam roll and stretching session.

Really enjoying Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand!

Homemade mac and cheese for dinner. For the first time trying this dish, it was good but I’ll have to work on perfecting a recipe.

Another 312 from Goose Island to sip on while watching football.

A face mask to give the skin a little TLC.

Cuddling by the fire is the best way to end a Sunday.
