Sunday In Pictures Vol. 35

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Ours was non stop busy but in a good way. Starting last Wednesday we had plans every day/night except for Thursday. Honestly I could use a second Sunday just to relax ha! Alas Monday is here and it’s time for work. Before the day really gets going though, I want to pop in and share our Sunday in pictures. Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

After staying up until 2:30(!) Saturday night, I needed to ease into Sunday by reading more of Little Fires Everywhere.

When it’s 80 degrees before 10 am, you skip hot tea and go for iced tea.

img_7004

Since we were SLOW moving to wake up and not that hungry, breakfast never happened. We skipped right to lunch and I had a buffalo chicken wrap.

img_7005

On the way home from the grocery store, I swung by Alex’s parents house to pick up his twin sister Tory. We baked shortcake together for dessert later that night.

img_7007

Alex and Tory went back to their parents house and I took a little break from running around for a quick snack. I cut up a cucumber and added a little light Ceasar dressing and parmesan cheese to the bowl.

img_7008

The finished product for dessert. I used this recipe from Taste of Home and it was a huge hit!

img_7009

Blogger fail but I didn’t get a picture of dinner. It was really good and we even got some leftovers to bring home. We enjoyed steak, salad, asparagus, corn plus basil, mozzarella, and tomato with balsamic on top.

To end the night, Alex and I watched Mamma Mia! on the couch. It’s on Netflix now if anyone is interested.

Question of the day: What’s one highlight from your weekend.

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Ours was spent at Tucker and Allison’s wedding, Alex’s brother and new sister-in-law. It was a fun weekend but late nights so we were ready to be home yesterday.

In typical Monday fashion, we’re taking a peek into my Sunday through some pictures. Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagel Sandwich

Instead of eating at the Airbnb we stayed at, we opted to head home early and grab breakfast sandwiches from our favorite place near home. A bacon, egg and cheese was a welcome sight!

img_6946

Picked up Bailey who we missed the past two days.

img_6949

The song of choice while heading to the grocery store.

img_6953

Someone did want to be far from us for a while…

img_6527

A tortilla pizza and some veggies for lunch.

img_6954

Free flowers are the best flowers.

img_6957

Some tea and magazine reading while it rained outside.

img_6958

Pizza for dinner because pizza is always a good idea.

To finish our lazy Sunday, we watched a little over half of American Made.

Happy Monday! It’s a tad dreary this morning but I have my fingers crossed the sun will peak through later in the day. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Saturday was filled with some shopping and ended with an amazing movie. Sunday had some relaxing in it and ended with dinner with a friend who is moving. Overall it was a good weekend.

In typical Monday fashion around here, I’m sharing my Sunday through pictures. Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

img_6270

Sunday started off with some pancakes and bacon for breakfast.

img_6043

I baked another batch of oatmeal muffins (I tweak this recipe) while listening to the Mamma Mia! soundtrack.

img_6868

While the muffins cooled, I finished The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett. It would be a good pool read I think since it’s not intense and a cute story.

img_6609

For lunch, I made a quesadilla with leftover beans and chicken plus some carrots and hummus.

img_6881

My next book is called The Identicals by Elin Hilderbrand. It’s about identical twins who live on Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard but don’t speak even though they live so close. I think it’ll be a good summer read!

img_6882

Bailey and I went on our longest walk to date. She wants everyone to know that tow trucks are a little scary but if you sit down to watch them back up while it beeps, then they aren’t as scary ๐Ÿ˜‰

img_4560

I made a batch of peanut butter chickpea blondies from Joy Food Sunshine. They smelled SO good while they baked.

We watched part of The King’ Speech.

img_6885

Then Alex and I headed to Somerville, New Jersey to meet my friend Greg who is moving at the end of the month. We grabbed dinner at an Irish pub (everything was oddly closed along Main St.) but my corned beef sandwich hit the spot!

Hi! How was your weekend? I have to say mine was pretty good. It was gross Saturday but the sun was out on Sunday and the humidity wasn’t that terrible. I have something fun planned at the end of this post so be sure to read it all. Have a great Monday ๐Ÿ™‚

img_6752

I started off Sunday by reading in bed.

Bailey Pancake

For breakfast, Alex, Tory (Alex’s twin) and I had some pancakes. There was a little batter left so Bailey got a tiny puppy pancake.

Bailey With Her Tongue Out

When we dropped Tory off back at their parents house, we took Bailey to run around for a bit. She was in love with it.

Donation Bag

After we got home, I rounded up two huge bags of things to donate. I had gone through a few drawers and had things to get rid of. There was an even bigger bag full of stuff I had already loaded into my car.

Sandwich, Pretzels, Carrots

For lunch, I made a ham sandwich and munched on carrots, pretzels and hummus.

Bailey With Long Leash

We bought a 30 foot leash for Bailey and headed to the park to test it out.

Trader Joe's Basket

I ran to Trader Joe’s to pick up a few staples and grabbed a few new to me items.

Buffalo Cauliflower and Homemade Fries

For dinner, I made buffalo cauliflower (recipe will be up Wednesday) and homemade fries.

img_6752

After dinner, I grabbed my Nook to finish the book. 5 star and would definitely recommend it.

Today’s post is going to end a little differently than normal. On Saturday, Maureen Gets Real turned 1! I started this blog on a whim at my old job because I was so bored that I needed something to do. Never would I have thought it would become what it is now. To celebrate, I’m going to do a little giveaway! The winner will win a giftcard to the store of their choice. On Friday, I’ll randomly select a winner and announce it in my post. All you have to do to answer is comment what your favorite post of mine has been. It can be something specific (ex: chocolate covered strawberry cupcakes) or a type of post that you like (weekly obsessions). Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

Daily Happenings, Holiday, Sunday In Pictures, Weekend

Sunday In Pictures Vol. 31

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. If you’re a mother, I hope you got spoiled by your children. Even though it was a grey and rainy weekend, we made the most of it by spring cleaning on Saturday and some time outside yesterday. This week it looks like it might rain most of it but I’m actually okay with it. The rain is washing away all the pollen that’s been killing me – I didn’t even take an allergy pill yesterday! We’ll ignore the fact that I woke up at 1:13 am in order to take on though… Hopefully the sun will shine for you this week. Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

Strawberries

Alex slept much later than Bailey and I so while we played, Iย  snacked on some strawberries.

Blueberry Waffle

For breakfast, we had waffles and bacon (not pictured).

Piping

I finally worked on my piping skills with the set Alex gave me for Valentine’s Day. Spoil alert – it was AMAZING. I kept commenting on how amazing and awesome it was lol.

img_6707

Called my mom to chat a bit and to wish her a happy Mother’s Day. This was from exactly a year ago today at my graduation from Rutgers. Time flies you guys…

img_6714

I made a tortilla pizza and paired it with a big salad for lunch.

img_6716

We attempted some obedience training outside… It’s a work in progress but she’s got it in the apartment.

img_6722

I made a key lime pie (from a mix )with whipped cream for dessert. The piping needs a little work but not too bad for a second try!

img_6723

We went to Alex’s parents house for dinner. Steak, roasted potatoes and some asparagus for dinner before dessert and his mom opened gifts.
